6. Jesus taught Elijah had already come and restores all things:
Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.” (Mark 9:12,13)
QUESTION: Who or what was the Elijah the Lord was referring to in the above passage?
For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. (Mat 11:13,14)
(John the Baptist)
7. Was Jesus teaching reincarnation by saying John the Baptist was Elijah or was he referring to something else?
The following verse refers to John the Baptist:
And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:17)
(Reincarnation is not true. It is not a Christian teaching. Jesus called John, Elijah because he came in the spirit and power of Elijah even though he performed no miracles. He was a powerful and bold hell fire and damnation preacher, just like the kind we need in our day. Furthermore, the Elijah of the Old Testament never died. There is no reincarnation.)
8. What led to John the Baptist’s imprisonment and death?
Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.” (Mat 14:3,4)
(John openly rebuked a murderous king for his illegitimate and adulterous marriage. After he was imprisoned, other events led to his head getting cut off. The righteous have always suffered unjustly at the hands of the wicked.)
9. Why did Jesus teach the following about forgiving others:
Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.... (Luke 11:4)
The answer is found here:
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Mat 6:14,15)
(We must forgive others who sin against us or our sins will not be forgiven. This is a very common, but unrecognized satanic temptation, that is, to get us into unforgiveness. Your sins against God were 500,000 times greater than how people sinned against you, Mt. 18:22-35.)
10. How often should we check our hearts for unforgiveness against others?
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. (Mark 11:25)
(We should check our hearts for unforgiveness as often as we pray. In other words, multiple times a day. Remember: This is a constant area of satanic temptation. He will try to use this on you to lead you to damnation.)
