31. What was Jesus’ first miracle?
This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. (John 2:11)
(The first miracle Jesus performed was when he changed in substance (transubstantiated) the water to wine.)
32. Regarding that same miracle, did the water that was turned into wine taste like water or wine?
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” (John 2:7-10)
(After the transubstantiation it tasted differently—like wine.)
33. How is that fact about a real transubstantiation by God a devastating blow to Catholicism?
(Catholicism claims to have a change of substance regarding the communion wafer into the literal body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ. However, the taste is not changed! Since anyone can make such an authoritative claim, there must be evidence for such. Not only is there no solid Biblical proof for their alleged transubstantiation, the only Scriptural evidence refutes their claim. Moreover, not only is their doctrine refuted by Jesus’ first miracle, it extends to them worshipping the consecrated communion wafer as God! Such is a clear example of idolatry in our modern day because of false teaching. This is a very serious offense before God.
34. Since Jesus performed his first miracle at Cana when he was 30 years old, how does that discredit the writings found in the so-called silent years of Jesus, which were supposed to be when he was 12 to 30 years old?
(That fraudulent, deceitful and misleading writing and part of the aquarian gospel is filled with false information about the Lord Jesus, even having him performing miracles before Cana, which is impossible since that was his first miracle. Everything God wanted us to know is found in the Bible. To go outside the Bible to any other source is dangerous! Do NOT do it!)
35. That first miracle of the Lord Jesus done at Cana resulted after Mary went to Jesus with that request. Does that mean Mary is unique, set apart and above others in that she can take our prayer requests to Jesus now to have him perform miracles in our behalf?
While he was saying this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples. Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that moment. When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd, he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. (Mat 9:18-25)
(What the Lord Jesus did at Mary’s request was NOT unique for her. He also performed miracles because others similarly went directly to Jesus and requested his intervention, as shown in Mt. 9:18-25. Mary is NOT the mediatrix and dispenser of all grace, as Catholicism teaches.
The Catholic Church has a Mary that doesn’t really exist, according to the Bible. While their Mary is the mother of Jesus, she is also wrongly exalted to many unique and vital positions causing many to trust in her for salvation! Very few Christians are saying anything about this, as millions remain lethally deceived.)
36. The Mormon Church actually believes Jesus had multiple wives and at Cana he got married! How can a Christian refute such a strange notion?
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. (John 2:1,2)
The bridegroom never gets invited to his own wedding! Since Jesus was invited there, he could not have been getting married. Jesus was never married to any woman, including Mary Magdalene. Do not believe the lies and rumors about this.
Furthermore, the Lord never failed his earthly mission like heretic Sun Moon, the founder of the Unification Church, teaches because he never got married and produced the perfect family!
