37. The New Testament teaches there were only 12 Apostles of the Lord and various false apostles. True or False?

The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles. (Acts 14:4) [The context is Paul and Barnabas.]

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: (Acts 14:14)

(There were true apostles other than the Twelve and more than just Paul and Barnabas. There were also false apostles.)

38. Which of the twelve original apostles were described as “outstanding”?

Greet Andronicus and Junias, my relatives who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was. (Rom 16:7)

(Trick question! None of the original twelve apostles were! It was Andronicus and Junias, who were outstanding among the apostles. We have no other details about them.)

39. Which apostle was Paul teamed up with?

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: (Acts 14:14)

(Barnabas. Paul was also teamed up with Silas at a later time, but he was a "prophet," Acts 15:32.)

40. Of the twelve original apostles there were two sets of brothers. They were Peter and Andrew and John and James. When the apostles paired off in groups of two to evangelize, heal, raise the dead, etc., were these brothers sent off together?

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. (Acts 3:1)

On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. (Acts 4:23)

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas? (1 Cor 9:5)

(Never! Peter was teamed up with John. Hence, the brothers were separated. Peter also later traveled and worked with his Christian wife. Remember, Cephas is another name for Peter, John 1:42.)
