(EMAIL) I would like to ask you a question about salvation. I was involved in occult activity 10 years ago and even sold my soul to the devil in exchange for musical talent and was tormented by demons. I started to read the Bible to see how to stop it and started listening to Christian radio programs. I sold my sinful possessions and I had made a commitment to Jesus but still felt hopeless and depressed After a few days of trying to repent I fell back into sin. Then after that I spent the next 10 years getting deep into the occult and black magic and even satanism and worshiping the devil for a short while and becoming very angry even rejecting Jesus. During those 10 years, I made a lot of other attempts to come back to God and would make a commitment but wouldn’t last 24 hours before going back into sin. One time I went to a church and suffered ear damage from the loud pa system, now to this day my hearing is damaged and I cannot go anywhere in public, including churches because the volume is damaging to my ears even with hearing protection. Over the years, I would always hope that I would somehow find the way to discipline myself to repent and come to Jesus. Also, I read years ago about the unpardonable sin and then I remembered that a long time ago, before I tried to come to Jesus, I committed the unpardonable sin. Recently, I read some passages in Hebrews that terrified me. Once again, I threw my guitar and music books and cd’s in the garbage and tried to come to Jesus and I feel hopeless. I have been up every night crying and praying to God to save me but there are so many things that are terrifying me, the unpardonable sin, the constant backsliding over the last 10 years including rejecting Jesus and worshiping the devil and all this talk about Calvinism terrifies me. Although, I still have to fight the desire to go back to my old sinful life, this is the first time in my life that I want to be saved, in the past I wanted it more out of fear but now I want to be a Christian but so many things make me feel hopeless.

I don’t even know if I was ever really saved when I first made a commitment 10 years ago, but now that I look back, I see that as soon as I went back into sin a few days later, a series of health problems and other problems happened and my life fell apart and I’m unemployed living with a relative and can’t work because of the hearing damage that I got when I went to that church 8 years ago. So because I have went back into sin after making a commitment, am I in a hopeless situation? Is there no salvation for me anymore?

thanks you for your help.

Have a nice day.

(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name.

Though you sinned GREATLY, many others have sinned MUCH WORSE and got forgiven!!!!! Manasseh is a prime example (2 Chron. 33:1-19). The same can and will be yours, when you learn a few things and act upon them.

First it seems that you must think you committed the “unpardonable sin.” The vast majority of people who contact us have NOT even come close to committing this sin, but are tortured within that they have. There is nothing clear in your email that shows you have done this.

Here is what the “unpardonable sin” or “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” is: it is saying Jesus had a demon and by the power of the devil he performed his miracles (Mark 3:22-30). It is NOT “selling your soul” to the devil for music power and popularity. It is not witchcraft, sexual immorality, using drugs, etc. It is a specific blasphemy caused by saying Jesus had a demon and by the power of the devil he performed his miracles.

That should help you. Also, it seems that you need to read through the New Testament. (If you don’t have a reputable translation and can’t afford a translation of the Bible like this, we’ll send one to you.)

This is how any person gets initial forgiveness: You must repent (turn away from sins) and place your submissive faith in the Lord Jesus (Acts 20:21). In different words that can also be stated as: you must humbly and sincerely ask God for mercy (Luke 18:13,14) with a willingness to turn away from wickedness to serve God (1 Thess. 1:9) and place 100% of your trust in Jesus.

(EMAIL) I pray that you wil see the errors of your very flawed theology. Your interpretation of what other teachers have supposedly said is either grossly exaggerated or just so infantile so it is self supportting. It defies logic and is spiritually devoid of any truth. I dont want to get into an email battle but you are wrong. Let John Macarthur, Ray comfort and all the other teachers peruse what you have read and those people can find fundamental flaws in your theology, which is devicive. There isnt a n ounce of grace in all of this stuff you have written. Repent!

(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name.

False teachers are very dangerous, especially the ones directly teaching something in error regarding salvation. Hence, these people need to be exposed and refuted with Scripture, which we do. It is vital, though not popular, to obey the commands in Jude 3,4 and Eph. 5:11. Precious souls have been helped by refuting the HERESY of eternal security. It is our privilege to help truth lovers in this manner.

You state there isn’t “an ounce of grace” in our materials. You would say that because your standard of “grace” is not Biblical grace. Instead it is the counterfeit grace connected with Calvinism and which allows for wicked living. Please ponder Titus 2:12 to know more about Biblical grace. Also please memorize Heb. 3:14.

GOD BLESS YOU.

(EMAIL) Do you think a Christian teen in high school should be reading all the harry potter books?? Should christians stay away from this kind of literature. Advise please.

(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name.

Without question the answer is NO. Since Harry Potter is associated with witchcraft and such is evil, then all people (especially Christians) should stay far away from Harry Potter material. Ponder this Scripture:

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. (Rev 21:8)

GOD BLESS YOU.

(EMAIL) I just read your piece on Hell, it was not bad, we need to teach what our Lord taught whether people like it or not! So thanks!

I would take issue with two points however, and I hope I’m not nit picking. First is the old testament references to hell, I rarely see them quoted, “Out of the winepress of my fury they will stain my garments with their blood, they shall scream in my ear but I will take no pity”. This is TERRIFYING. There are many more

Second point is Charles Stanley, I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but you took him out of context. Charles Stanley believes “Outer Darkness” refers to punishment in Hell, without question.

Thanks for listening,

(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name.

Thanks for the compliment about our teachings on hell. YES, the doctrine of hell needs to be taught even though it might not be popular. Jesus taught about hell all the time and thought it was that important to do so. Did you ever notice Psalm 11:6,7?

As hard as it might seem to believe, Charles Stanley has taught in his book on eternal security the following about “outer darkness”:

Where is this place represented by the ‘outer darkness’ in Jesus’ parables? To be in the ‘outer darkness’ is to be in the kingdom of God but outside the circle of men and women whose faithfulness on this earth earned them a special rank or position of authority.

(EMAIL) Greetings in the Name of Jesus!

... We greatly suspect that the main cause of this

aberration in the church has something to do with the

kind of doctrines and teachings that we received and

we passed on to others. However, it seems that we are

in a dillema where to start, especially in uncovering

the faulty doctrine and how to convince others about

it.

But praise be to God Who Is so mindful of us! Just a

few days ago, a brother shared to me your book

entitled, “The Myth of Eternal Security”. I read it

and right there and then, I was fully convicted and

convinced that indeed, this doctrine on eternal

security and OSAS has been the culprit all these time to the decline, deterioration if not death of most churches.

In view of these, I now have this burning passion in

my heart to join your cause in contending for the

truth, hoping and praying that through this endeavor

of ours, a powerful and enduring revival can happen in our city, province and nation....May God be with us in this very worthy cause....Thank you very much, more power and God bless!

In Christ,

(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name.

It was a wonderful thing to read your email. You are correct about the HORRIBLE condition in the so-called churches. They are filled with sin and false doctrine—the WORST false doctrine being “eternal security.” Eternal security is the GREATEST doctrinal threat to holiness and breeds sin, lukewarmness and ignorance of scripture. To have people living in the fear of God and walking in obedient love to others, the lie of eternal security MUST be crushed ....
