NOTE: The ones water baptized there would be taught by the Eleven to water baptize others who get saved ....

Many thanks for the latest e mail. I look forward to receiving these every week and I was impressed with the article on the word “follow” in John 10 v 27. I did not realize that this word in the Greek is in the continuous tense. This means that the promise in verses 28-9 are conditional upon continuously following Christ. This would tie in with Paul’s statement in 1st Cor 15 v 2, the word “if” being the key.
In the past I have held to OSAS and even taught it but your web site has opened my eyes to the truth in this matter.

(EMAIL) Hello my name is ___________. I’ve very recently come across your website and must tell you what a blessing! My heart is in dire straits right now. Why? Well when I was 14years of age my Pastor at the time came by my parents house, sat, talked, went over some scripture verses with me and that is when I accepted JESUS as my SAVIOR. But, I was only a person that professed CHRIST I by no means lived a life that showed I truly possessed CHRIST. Over the following years I conveniently wore the “Christian” mask very well. I fooled everybody. I did not party, drink, take any form of drugs nor did I smoke. By most peoples definition I was the nice guy, playing it safe, basically a good “Christian” man. . . .I starting attending a charismatic church that was “alive” and “on fire”. I did learn and I even attended their ministry school for 2 years where I graduated, was then licensed in ministry and one more year after that I was ordained in ministry. But after a while I began to realize that the messages I was hearing were not on foundational scriptural doctrine. Rarely was anything said about sin, repentance, hell or taking up your cross. Irregardless of all that I know that deep down in the depths of my heart I am not truly saved. I am now __ years old and every since that day at 14 years of age I know I’ve supposedly given my life to CHRIST countless times even being an ordained minister and yet I am still saturated in and rotting in sin after sin ones that have entangled me since even my teenage years that one being pornography. I truly want JESUS to be my SAVIOR, REDEEMER, MASTER, KING and LORD. I am married with __ children and I want to be a dad who is never again a hypocrite, liar or pretender! I am spilling my heart out to you because I am lost and I want to take the masks off, I want the old man, the old sin filled nature gone and I want to be a genuine man of GOD who authentically follows JESUS. Please help me in response and prayer.

It is wonderful that you want God and the salvation he alone can give. To have salvation you must have JESUS. By this I mean he MUST be NUMBER ONE in your life—number two is not good enough and will not bring life. You must dethrone self, etc. and place JESUS as the “king” of your life. He must rule over your life. He will not only be the one you TRUST IN for salvation, but the one you SERVE. His desires are your desires. His teachings will be your teachings.

(EMAIL) In defense to Hal Lindsey-let me inform you that you apparently need to study more of the King James version of the Holy Bible. Hal is correct in his statement that we can truly know we have eternal security. A sincere, true Christian (obedient to God) will have this deep knowledge with in them. Please read 1 John 5: 10-13 and it will enlighten you of this security. We can not live a frivolous conduct or life style but a committed life for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Then we will have the peace that surpasses all understanding. I have it. I am His child and secure in this knowledge.

Eternal security doctrine is NOT a teaching that states the “obedient” will have knowledge of God or salvation, etc. Eternal security doctrine is the demonic teaching which declares the DISobedient, if ever saved, retains salvation. That is what Hal Lindsey teaches and that is a horrible heresy, which must be refuted.
We are very familiar with 1 John 5:10-13. There is NOTHING there or anywhere else in the Bible that can support eternal security. Have you ever noticed that 1 John 5:12 is a PRESENT TENSE possession of JESUS. Compare that with 1 John 2:24,25 where we are informed that having the Son is CONDITIONAL after initial salvation.
You say you live a committed life for the Lord, but didn’t define your understanding of a committed life. Since eternal security people teach that Paul wasn’t obedient, how can we think you are claiming to be obedient? You must mean something less for a committed life.

We were apparently good enough to put the bible together, yet when something contradicted what protestants wanted to believe, they just conveniently turned a blind eye to it. . . .
I suggest you get your facts totally straight before you lead unsuspecting people astray because you will be the one who is accountable in the end. Your very own Martin Luther still had a love and respect for Mary. In a time when a woman would have been stoned to death, she said be it done unto me according to your will and had a baby that was not her husbands. She is an example for all Christians to live by, trusting completely in God’s will. We do not worship her, but you wouldn’t really know that. If your ancestors were ever Christians, chances are they were Catholic. . . .

If you have found something specific which you think is wrong, please tell us. Do not just lump everything together that was written about Catholicism and cast it aside as false. I used to be a Catholic and wanted to stay a Catholic even after I started to read the Bible, but I couldn’t. The evidence is overwhelming, especially about Mary.

I have been reading many of these over the past year, and have found many that warn believers that the OSAS doctrine is false. This is their message from Jesus. . . .Please clarify your position on NDE’s, as you have put a bad taste in my mouth, because I know they’re real (the ones that warn believers to turn from sin, or they could end up in hell.)

Near Death Experiences can be very stirring. We are grateful for all which line up with Scripture, but sadly MANY do NOT!!!! Logically, they, therefore, can’t all be from the same source because of the contradictions. For example: the God of the Bible would NEVER tell a person who was guilty of stealing that it was neither good or bad but a lesson for his learning. That was the message of one popular NDE we know about. I wonder how many have been deceived by that ....
Other NDE would have an atheist in heaven as well as MANY non-Christians. Hence, their message is often of universal salvation for everyone, which is clearly wrong (Mt. 7:13,14; Rev. 20:15; etc.). The devil can come as an angel of light to deceive (2 Cor. 11:14). We must be VERY careful.
Remember ALL CHRISTIAN TEACHING is to come from the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Experiences, like visions, dreams, prophecy, etc. are to be “tested” with Scripture—our standard of truth. The ones that do not line up are NOT from the source who gave us the Bible (God). Hope this helps. GOD BLESS YOU.

(EMAIL) . . . My father just passed away. He wore his brown scapular until the end. A lady from the church said that Mary was going to come and snatch him up and end his suffering. He was too weak to lift his arms. When the time came, He said “I feel fine today and then suddenly threw his arms to the heavens and flew out of the bed and was dead when he came back down. My own Catholic grandmother saw her mom who died giving birth to the 12th child when my grandmother was three. She went home to her mother with a smile on her face despite having terminal cancer and never taking a pain killer.

Your email is based on partial truth only, as you avoid other relevant evidence. First, the man who formulated the Textus Receptus was a Catholic priest who dedicated his first Greek copy of the TR to the Pope! So stop this Catholic stuff to discredit the newer translations. Secondly, if the manuscripts used by the newer versions have been corrupted and distorted by Catholicism, then WHY do they refute Catholicism??????? Reading the newer versions will cause the truth seeker to leave Catholicism.
If you are like the vast majority, you can NOT even pronounce the strange words in the KJV much less understand their meanings. Hence, you are using the KJV to your own disadvantage and trying to get others to use it too to their disadvantage. Please stop this nonsense and battle something worth fighting like the heresy of Calvinism.

THANK YOU for the compliment. Many people have attacked us over the KJV issue. It is very sad that this is even an issue in our day, but it is. To read the KJV is to have limited understanding of the Scriptures. All those strange words block one’s comprehension. The truth is: the KJV onlyites, with few exceptions, can not even pronounce those words much less know their meanings. If they had their way the wonderful translations, that are reputable, would not even be available.
