Emails 11-15-09
(EMAIL) I read in the bible about how not everyone should desire the office of teacher, because they will recieve stricter judgement. A lot of people believe everyone should preach. Sometimes I don't trust my knowledge about the bible enough to teach others also I struggle with sin and I certainly don't want to be a hypocrite, I don't want to be telling others how to live when sometimes I'm confused about how to overcome situations. Also I just bought the NASB update I was wondering if that is the most accurate bible version? I do hand out tracts and try to edify when I can but I thought "street preaching" was a teaching office?
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. You seem God fearing, which is a major plus. You are correct in one way about not all should teach. On the other hand, ALL CHRISTIANS (men and women) should witness and can testify. Though that is a form of teaching it is not like street preaching or teaching in a congregation, which all should not do. We have been entrusted with the gospel and we better do something with it. That is cause to fear! Multitudes in our day are lost, but think they are saved. They need help desperately. Someone must care enough to rescue them. The blessing of that obedience will splash back on the soul winner.
If I go out witnessing and a question or issue arises which I can’t answer, I simply say, “I don’t know.” NO PERSON has every single detail on every issue figured out. If that was necessary before one could go witnessing, no one would ever go. On the other hand, you should at least know how you were saved, if you were. Handing out sound gospel tracts will do the teaching for you. (Our gospel tracts are loaded.) Most never ask any questions, but if someone does, share your Godly concerns and your personal testimony.
You mentioned you struggle with sin. That could mean something different for each person. The issue is, do you yield to the temptation? If you are struggling with sin’s temptation, yet not yielding, that can be typical. Even Jesus was tempted (Heb. 4:15), which doesn’t mean he was unholy or ignorant. Just because the devil tempts, that doesn’t mean you are sinful! You will ALWAYS be tempted with different issues, as long as you live.
If you are yielding to sin, you need to get the victory over it and you CAN, through the Lord Jesus. Please read this http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/safegard.htm
and http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/fighttothedeath.htm It is good you don’t want to be a hypocrite. They will be damned.
We know nothing about the NASB update. You are MUCH better off with a Bible that is NOT a “study” Bible. That is because they are almost always an indoctrination tool to someone’s doctrines, which can be dangerous.

(EMAIL #1) If you do not believe Jesus is the Father, then do you not believe Jehovah is the Father? Where is the Father mentioned in the bible?
(RESPONSE #1) Greetings in Jesus’ name. No one understands all the details about the Godhead, but this we know -- there are 3 separate and distinct persons all shown to be the true God in the Bible, yet Scripture also says there is only one true God. MANY Scriptures can be cited for the deity of Christ. What confuses people most about his deity is that he is also MAN. JESUS IS THE GOD-MAN.
Scripture shows Jesus is the YHWH of the Old Testament often. Please see http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/yhwh.htm This is a mind-blow about God, especially when one realizes he became man and died for us!!!!!!
There is no question Jesus is NOT the father http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/jesusnotfather.htm “Jehovah” is a hybrid term which was invented by a Catholic leader in the 16th century. Hence, YHWH (or Yahweh) is what we should use instead. YES, the Father is YHWH, as is the Holy Spirit and Jesus.
Have you read this http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/trinity.htm

(EMAIL #2) How can Yahweh be three persons? Are you three persons in one body? Because if you are not three persons in one as you say God is, then God is a liar, because He said He made you in His image and His likeness. If Yahweh is three persons, then how can He say He alone created everything? How can He say He alone will come back to make war with the nations? There is confusion even among trinitarians. ...God is one persons accoeding to scripture. Nowhere does it say He is three persons. I do not need to read anything written by man, is all I need is the word of God given to me by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said He is that Holy Spirit. Jesus said He is the Father. I do not understand the trinity doctrine, because it would have me believe that Jesus is a lying fool.
(RESPONSE #2) Greetings in Jesus’ name. God is a person without a body. He is Spirit (John 4:24) and a spirit does not have flesh and bones (Lk. 24:39). Just on that basis Jesus cannot be the Father!
The reason Christians believe YHWH exists in 3 persons is because of Scripture and a logical conclusion. Again, you need to carefully read this http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/trinity.htm
Man is made in the image and likeness of God, but God is shown to be COMPOUND UNITY even there:
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Gen 1:26)
YHWH did create everything, but he exists in 3 persons. Nowhere did Jesus say he is the Holy Spirit. Nowhere did Jesus say he is the Father. If you are thinking about Jn. 14:9, Jesus was saying when you see him react to any situation or speak, it as though the Father was there reacting and speaking. They are in perfect harmony, but separate persons.
You say you don’t need to read anything other than the Bible, which sounds good, but WHY did you allow someone to teach you the false views about Jesus being the Holy Spirit and Father when he isn’t? Reading something as an email or an article is a teaching, but in text form. God bless you.

(EMAIL) May I dare question the practice of "Christmas" celebrations in our Churches and private lives.... It comes to my mind the very little Biblical significance for taking up the whole month of December in preparation for this 'holy' day. Millions will be spending precious time and money buying 'gifts' beginning in Nov.--could this be some 'magical spell' of the enemy?
...But can 'Christmas' be 'sacred' anyway?...And why was it so quickly a 'celebration' that so gladly accepted in our Churches? Could secular Hollywood/music be the answer? The 'gay' 20's? Or Macy's Parades?
...The 'seed' of Christmas was planted by the Macy's Advertising Dept.--and has grown into full-blown AVARICE, we LONG for Christmas Spirits each year to be afresh in our hearts! Mesmerized by twinkling lights and jolly spirits that entice NAIVE children! This seasonal 'joy' is a seed of 'hope' that has sprouted in their hearts--now a part of the American spirit we have come to accept and 'love' as our God and Country. This is an 'emotional' tie that has wed a concept of Christianity and American Dreams (Christ and Baal)...some would call it a "Secular Church"--or a "Civil Religion"...no longer 'Christ' in 'Church'--but "Christ' in 'Christmas'!...
...This combining of pagan fellowship and love of God is Exposed here! These naïve Christians eagerly say, "Merry Christmas," to all. But do we hear any 'faith' greetings, "Well, praise the Lord," when they greet one another in December? December has a 'different' spirit in the air--truth now revealed.
What's even worse is that when you mention this demonic influence that has take over the hearts and minds of the vast majority of Christians--they only get upset at you -- ...as being 'Scrooge'--fully believing Charles Dickinson's version of the Truth! So willing to incorporate the Christmas Spirit into being a Christian Spirit -- such a deception that is now part of the Church service to God--that it's the 11th Commandment! Even Jesus himself could not stop the madness of our times in 'celebrating' Christmas saying "It's for YOU, Jesus"! ...Thank you sincerely for your response,
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. NO QUESTION, Christmas is NOT Biblical, especially as done in our vile day. Even worse, or at least just as bad, is Easter! Easter is another pagan experience, which has NOTHING to do with the Lord Jesus’ bodily resurrection from the grave.
It is also demonic to hear Christmas songs about Santa having attributes that only God has such as “He [Santa] knows when you have been good or bad ....” It is a terrible day. Our world is filled with pagan and demonic influences. The message of the Bible is the blaze of light and truth people desperately need, but don’t know it. Without it, they will grope around in darkness with the majority on their way to HELL. Hence, all Christians have the responsibility of spreading, especially, the gospel message.

(EMAIL) While most of what you say is very good, I have a big issue with your teaching on loss of salvation, as does God's Word. I wonder if a person can be saved if they do not put their whole trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and his precious shed blood and still feel the need to work their way to heaven. Being eternally saved does not give us the excuse to carry on in sin, if we have the Holy Spirit we will hate sin, but it is a battle with the flesh, while we are still on this earth.
I would therefore like you to stop sending me emails, as one false doctrine is bad enough to make me lose the will to read anything else a person has to say and this is a huge one. Thank you very much.
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. The only reason you believe in eternal security is because you were taught this when you were Scripturally ignorant (and must still be). You have heard that heresy taught as grace and the gospel so many times, you think it is! Hence, you believe all Christians who supply Scriptures showing it is of satanic origin are unsaved or ignorant at best. There is no excuse for this! We have two books and many audio teachings which can help you as they have many others, but you must first be open to the truth, which doesn’t seem to be the case.
NOTE: We do NOT teach a work’s salvation nor do we TRUST in our good works for salvation. We teach against such! The mere fact that you mentioned this (accusing us) shows you have been so indoctrinated you just accept what the heretic “pastors” in churches and elsewhere have taught you. You are not in touch with reality on this issue. Please get informed.
Is eternal security an excuse to sin? Answer: YES. How can we be sure, even though the obvious answer we will readily hear from the heretic eternal security teachers is “no.” Eternal security teaches: (1) We MUST ALL sin all the time, (2) Paul was the “worst” of all sinners, (3) God can’t see our sins after getting born again, (4) Our future sins are already forgiven, etc. All of that and more not cited here spells out a SECURITY IN SIN “gospel,” which is a trap of the devil.
...Also, please consider getting our 801 page book refuting eternal security entitled, “The Believer's Conditional Security.” There is MUCH in it that can help you better understand this salvation related subject. http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/whatsnew.htm This book is the most exhaustive and comprehensive refutation to eternal security ever written. It has never been refuted and never will, even though thousands of Baptists ministers have it!
Remember Gal. 6:8,9 is a SALVATION passage not a rewards passage. GOD BLESS YOU.

(EMAIL) Since you like to rail upon those who preach faith alone in Christ alone for salvation, I suppose you would have been in the crowd of salvation-by works preachers who lined up in opposition to Paul (Ro.3: 7-8). To teach that one can be lost after he is saved is to be directly opposed to Christ and His promises (Jn.10:28), The Holy Spirit (Ep.5:22), and of course the apostle Paul (here, 2Tim.1:12). I would not want to be in your shoes as one who preaches "another gospel" (Gal.1:6-9, 3:3).
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. We believe the faith in Jesus which saves from hell and sin’s addictions is a faith which submits and OBEYS. To say you have faith with no obedience is the “faith of demons,” which James 2 refutes as the kind of faith which can bring salvation.
You, or any grace changer, can cite Paul as a person who taught eternal security, but that is the opposite of the truth. Paul repeatedly taught defection to the point of spiritual death (Rom. 6:16; 8:13; Gal. 5:19-21; 6:8,9; 1 Tim. 1:18,19; 3:6; 5:15; 2 Tim. 2:12; 2:18; etc.).
Rom. 3:7,8 is not us. We are NOT of that group. You have also referred to the following passage, so let’s take a close look at it:
John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and THEY FOLLOW ME. John 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
Please note that the ones that will “never perish” or get “snatched” from God’s hand, according to Jesus’ teaching, are only the ones that FOLLOW HIM. Also, the Greek tense of the word “follow” in v. 27 is a CONTINUOUS TENSE. Hence, this verse does NOT allow for one to stray into wickedness and maintain their salvation as it has been misused to teach. Please remember this.
The seal of the Holy Spirit is NOT any evidence for eternal security, especially since in the same book, at Eph. 5:5-7, eternal security is refuted:
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.
There is nothing in 2 Tim. 1:12 to support eternal security. You are reading into that verse something which is NOT there!
Your conclusion that we believe another gospel is false! The truth is the real gospel can’t be eternal security:
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. (1 Cor 15:2)

(EMAIL) I know this has been addressed several times but I need a clear answer. I was saved and baptised aroud twelve years old. When I was baptised the Pastor ask me how I felt. I responded that I felt like I had been sick very a very long time and had just gotten well. I have no doubt that the Spirit of God filled me. Later the Pastor's wife told my Mother that she and the Pastor both knew that God had great plans for me.
However in the following years due to my Father cheating with a woman in the Church and finally leaving my Mother and me I became very angry with God and the Church.
It shames me to say but for many years I cursed God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost, the Church and everything connected to it. I lead a life of drinking, drugs and prison.
Several months back my wife passed away and that brought me face to face with life and death, eternity and the terrible mistakes I had made. I have begged God everyday to forgive me for such conduct. I am truly sorry for my actions and wish to know if you believe there can be any hope for me? If so, I am determined to spend the remainder of my life in service to the Lord. I'm so ashamed of throwing all those years away for something that was not Gods fault, but my Dads in giving in to the devil and his temptations. The Church played no role in my Father's weak character and I see that so clearly now.
Again, do you believe there is any hope?
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. A reply but be great because this eats at me all the time.
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. As vile and wicked as your reprehensible behavior was, you did NOT commit eternal sin! According to Mark 3:22-30 that form of blasphemy is committed when one says/believes Jesus had a demon and performed his miracles by the power of the devil. You did not do that, so STOP ALLOWING THE DEVIL TO TORTURE YOU! Resist his thoughts designed to CRUSH you.
(Sorry to read about your father’s wickedness too.) Move on with God and don’t let the devil lead you astray again.

(EMAIL) I've on much of your teachings you say believe on Jesus and obey his word and thats it. What your saying is unbiblical here's why. In Acts 2:38 it states that we must "Repent, and be baptized in in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissison of sins, and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost." So obveaously there's a little more to being saved than just believing. We have to repent, be baptized (in Jesus name), and filled with the Holy Ghost.
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. You have been deceived by the United Pentecostals, also known as Apostolics or “Jesus Only.” Your plan of salvation is WRONG and DANGEROUS. To believe in Jesus (as it meant in Bible days) includes repentance. Tongues is NOT necessary to get forgiven. To cite disjointed Scripture is not proof and that is what you have done. Acts 2:38 actually teaches that repentance (or belief in Jesus) is what brings forgiveness. It does NOT include water baptism in Jesus’ name, as especially we see in Acts 10:43-48. Please read this about baptism http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/baptism.htm
Also, Jesus is NOT the father http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/jesusnotfather.htm God bless you.

(EMAIL) I was reading "Salvation Observations from James 5:19-20", and noticed something at the end of the article that was quite disturbing. It states: Precious souls could be rescued from the furnace of fire by doing so. (passing on the message that eternal security is a deadly lie). This statement is totally off the mark. First, I do not believe that an issue like the security issue would change the minds of real Christians or how they act, meaning this argument is not as important as you make it out to be, claiming souls will be rescued from fire. It does not matter whether or not a person believes in eternal security, the mandate of a Christian is to believe, and in so believing work for the furthering of the Kingdom of God. This belief leads to eternal life in Christ, no matter how long you've believed it. The judgement of a person comes after death, and isn't that a calming thought? Simply put, I can rest in the knowledge that how ever many times I backslide, how ever many times I mess up, I can have confidence that the Lord has saved me if I believe. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine.
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. A person acts based on what he accepts as truth. If you were deceived by the devil, and consequently accepted as truth that the Book of Mormon or Koran was God’s word, your behavior would change accordingly. Similarly, notice also this passage:
Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Rom 8:5)
Where one’s mind is will effect his behavior. That is why the devil gives us thoughts, that is, to lead us astray.
To believe in THE HERESY (eternal security) is to throw away your guard because you will think God is keeping you, holding you, etc. True grace teaching has the Christian also holding on (Heb. 3:6; 3:14; 1 Cor. 15:2) and keeping himself (1 John 5:21; James 1:27; etc.). Your view of sin is also dangerously twisted. You think all sin is the same, God can’t see the Christian’s sin, the Christian’s future sins are already forgiven even without repentance, etc. In short, you believe in a false version of grace, sin, salvation, holiness, etc.
NOTE: The righteous can die spiritually http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/spiritualdeath.htm
You need to FEAR, not rest regarding backsliding! Ponder this:
You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. (Rom 11:19-23)
Sounds like you might be trying to “mock” God:
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:7-9)
You have also been taught a FALSE gospel:
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. (1 Cor 15:2)

(EMAIL) Hello, I was wondering if you have used Matt 25, 50-51 as undoubted proof from the mouth of the Lord to silence CARM? They are not too interested in answering my questions about OSAS, so I thought I might ask you for some responses. I have noticed that you have history with them. If you have mentioned this in your website could you point it out for me, as I'm sure you are busy. If not, I would like your commentary, as I believe that this is one of the strongest points against OSAS because of the following * Jesus says plainly that the person spoken of is a servant.* The example is a servant of authority over other servants, which has been bestowed by the master. This can only mean that he has been in the masters favour (saved) at some point*At the point of the masters return, the servant has been caught in the act of wrongdoing.* He has shown no regard for the masters warning that he will return unexpectedly* He is sent off to punishment Keep on fighting please as it really disheartens me when sites like CARM have an abundance of apparently correct interpretations, yet have an underlying belief in something as sinister as eternal security. Which sections should I believe then? ...Thanks for your time.
(RESPONSE) Greetings in Jesus’ name. Since there is no Mt. 25:50,51, I can only guess what you might mean. Is this the one:
But suppose the servant says to himself, “My master is taking a long time in coming,” and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. (Luke 12:45,46)
YES, we do use that passage sometimes but MANY others too. CARM is not going to change. Hence, all you can do is try to help some who have been deceived by their Calvinistic teachings.
CARM, Dave Hunt, etc, have some sound teaching but their OSAS is like poison sprinkled on good food. They also have a DANGEROUS view of grace, salvation, holiness, sin, etc., which is very wide reaching.
