for changing the grace of God into a "license
for immorality" (Jude 4) with the following statement:
The
two sides of God's faithfulness
Jesus said, "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life
maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. And if your
foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two
feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for
you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into
hell, 'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched' " (Mk. 9:43-48).
"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those
who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars -- their place will be in the fiery lake of
burning sulfur. This is the second death" (Rev. 21:8).
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be
deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes
nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor
swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9,10).
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person -- such a man is an
idolater -- has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one
deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those
who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them (Eph. 5:5-7).
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions,
factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that
those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21).
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who
rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit
(1 Thess. 4:7,8).
