What Happens After Death (pdf)

This Occurs When A Person Dies

The point of death is when one's spirit departs his physical body (James 2:26a) or as it says in Psa. 90:10 we will fly away. It was like that even when Jesus died on the cross (Mat 27:50). Similarly, we read the following about Rachel as she was dying giving birth to Benjamin:
And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin (Gen. 35:18, ESV).
Where one's spirit and soul go after they depart from the body depends on his spiritual condition at that point, that is, if he is righteous or unrighteous in God's sight. In other words, one must die with a pure heart to see God and to go home to be with the Lord (Mt. 5:8; 2 Cor. 5:8). It takes a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (which includes repentance) to be purified, cleansed and forgiven of sins (Acts 15:9; 20:21; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Rev. 1:5; etc.). Jesus' holy blood is the only spiritual cleansing agent (Eph. 2:13; Col. 1:20; 1 Pet. 1:18,19; Heb. 12:24; etc.). One must endure to the end to enter God's kingdom (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:12; Rom. 11:20-23; Rev. 2:10,11).

On the other hand, if a person dies in an unrighteous condition he will immediately go into fiery torment (Lk. 16:23,28; Jude 7; Rev. 14:11; Psa. 11:6; Mt. 13:41,42; 25:30; etc.). There is no soul sleep, as the Jehovah's Witnesses and Seven Day Adventist wrongly teach. That same lost soul who died in his sins will remain in that horrible place with other wicked people until their resurrection, then to be shown their names are not found in the book of life to be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15). The lake of fire will be their final abode in eternal fiery torment with no annihilation (Rev. 19:20 cf. 20:10; Mt. 25:46; Jude 7; etc.).

Your Earthly Life Is A Spiritual Test

Your Life Now

Concisely stated your earthly life is really a spiritual test (1 Thess. 2:4; Rev. 2:10,11; etc.) filled with much trouble, sorrows, problems and temptations. We must persevere through adversity and continue following Jesus no matter what happens, even when we are all alone:
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)
Your decision to repent and follow the Lord Jesus Christ till death, or not, will determine where you will spend eternity, thereby reflecting how vitally important salvation is. Again, that single issue is the pivotal issue of your whole eternity! So, what will you do with the only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ? Real success is entering God's kingdom after death, made possible only by the one and only way to get there -- a trusting, submitting and enduring faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6; 10:9; Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 2:5; etc.), the Passover lamb of God (1 Cor. 5:7; Rev. 5:12; etc.). If you disown him, he'll disown you (Mt. 10:33).

For Those Who Endure To The End, This Life Now
Is Our Only Time Of Pain, Sorrow and Testings.

The holy place prepared by God for the righteous followers of Jesus Christ is:

It is commonly called heaven, but other names include:

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body
and at home with the Lord.
So we make it our goal to please him,
whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must
all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is
due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad (2 Cor 5:8-10).

It is shown to be the dwelling of God (Rev. 21:3) and only for the overcomers (Rev. 3:21; 21:1-7; etc.) with many mansions there (Jn. 14:2). It is gain and better by far for those living for Christ (Phil. 1:21,23). Hallelujah!

Comfort For Surviving Christians

The grave is not the end. Our death is merely our exit from this life and entrance into eternity, to never be reincarnated. This earthly test is not a dry run or a practice drill to get it right in another life time. This is it forever. So what you will do with the Lord Jesus Christ? Will you wisely take up your cross and make him King over your life to follow and serve him unashamedly and faithfully till death in this sin filled and truth rejecting world?

If you are a backslider, God wants YOU back (James 5:19,20; Rom. 11:19-23). Repent as the prodigal did, who returned to salvation (Lk. 15:24). If there is any doubt if you are pure or not in God's sight now, humbly and sincerely cry out to God from your heart for his mercy and forgiveness. From the depths of your heart, turn from your sins and commit yourself to the Lord Jesus. Don't delay. You could die at any time. Draw near to God and he'll draw near to you.

Find Out What Happened After Death To The Rich Man and Lazarus

There are only two gates, two roads and two eternal destinies with the majority perishing (Mt. 7:13,14; Lk. 13:23,24). You must be righteously different because of your faith in the Lord Jesus to enter Paradise. Make your life count for God. Save this teaching and pass it on to someone you love and care about.

The length of our days is seventy years-- or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we FLY AWAY (Psa. 90:10)
