The belief in ufos and aliens is very much alive and well throughout the world, but is a belief in Christianity and aliens compatible or in disharmony? Does the Bible allow for a belief in intelligent life beyond earth? Many people from all walks of life and from around the globe claim ufo sightings. One UFO was estimated to be 1 to 2 miles wide and triangular in shape (called the Phoenix Lights). It was seen in Phoenix, Arizona by many credible witnesses. Others have claimed to have seen dead aliens and/or even say they were abducted into a ufo and given a medical examination by the child-size, hairless greys, who have large oblong black eyes and large heads! Such is indisputable! As of 1997, 54% of the people in one poll reported their belief in alien intelligent life outside of earth.
Christianity and Aliens
In 1997, Time Magazine revealed the following from their poll about ufos, aliens and the related:
Poll About UFOs and Aliens
50% believe that aliens have abducted humans
93% have never been abducted
91% have never had contact with aliens
75% had never seen a UFO or knew of anyone who had
37% believe that aliens have contacted the US government
75% believe that a UFO crashed near Roswell
26% believe that they would be expected to be treated as an enemy
39% believe that aliens would appear very humanoid
35% believe that aliens would look somewhat human
80% believe that the government is hiding the existence of extraterrestrial life forms
64% believe aliens have contacted humans
Besides that there are mysterious and bloodless cow mutilations done with surgical precision and intricately designed crop circles found in fields around the world, which many think are directly connected with aliens. It is clear that the alien ufo issue is very relevant and important to many people. We might now wonder how such a belief in ufos and aliens has affected the devotees religiously? Before getting to a few direct quotes, avid Bible readers might find it amusing that some ufo fans and authors believe the prophet Ezekiel saw a ufo and that Elijah was carried away by one! The truth is: There is no evidence for UFOs in the Bible! Such weird ideas is serious enough, but when John Lear, and other ufo spokesmen, communicate bold anti-God, anti-creation, anti-miracle messages that directly attack foundational truths in Christianity, it is much more serious and must be addressed!
The Alien's UFO Issue Is Relevant
Here is what John Lear (son of the famous inventor of the Lear Jet) has appallingly reported as what the government would reveal about aliens, if what they knew was released. It is pure spiritual poison:
Lies Associated With Aliens and ReligionWe found out that we [the people of earth] are the experiment or product, if you will, of an alien race, who we never met and really don't know who they are ....... At this point it became apparent to all involved that there was no such thing as a God, at least as the public perceives God. Certainly some kind of computer recorder stores information, and an occasional miracle is displayed by the aliens to influence a religious event. You can add to that with others having said that the aliens would intervene and save the world from a future nuclear holocaust, making them the "savior of the world." So, people who are innocently curious about ufos and aliens, are being presented religious lies as fact! The same, in their thirst for ufo alien information, are now dangerously exposed to religious death-producing poisonous distortions coming from chief spokesmen and ufo information experts. False religious doctrine from someone like that is just as D-E-A-D-L-Y as if it came from an avowed atheist, evolutionist or some other anti-Bible proponent, who denies the existence of ufos and aliens! The alien gospel is spiritually dangerous and a snare to SOULS!
Years ago, I was in a conversation with a man who told me a belief in aliens and ufos refutes the Bible. When I asked him why, he had no answer. He must have heard it does and never sought the basis for that statement. I assured him the Bible does NOT say that God only created intelligent life on this planet. The Bible does allow for the possibility of intelligent life on another planet (Rev. 10:6), but the strange ideas being communicated by John Lear (and others like him such as Erich Von Daniken) about aliens and religion are definitely demonic-like, even if they come from beings who are supposed to be foreign to our planet and advanced. False religious doctrine, which attacks the heart of Christianity, has been mixed in with general information about the existence of ufos and aliens to the spiritual harm of precious souls!
Again, a belief in aliens does not disprove God's existence or the reliability of the Bible! However, any teaching, report, experience, dream, vision, feeling, etc., which contradicts the Bible must be rejected as factual, since the Bible is the proven word of God and the Lord Jesus is the proven Son of God. The Lord Jesus Christ, and his apostles, endorsed Adam's creation, as cited in Genesis, and by doing so flatly countered the poisonous alien gospel:The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. (1 Cor 15:47)For Adam was formed first, then Eve. (1 Tim 2:13)"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." (Mat 19:4-6)God's existence and miracles from God (not aliens) are proven in many Scriptures. Here are a few:You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. (Psa 77:14)Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." (John 3:1,2)God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, (Acts 19:11)Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard? (Gal 3:5)
IF aliens do exist and are reporting false religious information, they are lying or just mistaken. IF aliens do exist, there is no reason to accept them as moral or factual creatures just because they may be more intelligent and advanced than we are. Nothing should pull one away from the Biblical message, with its life-producing truths in Jesus Christ and relevant message for all ages. Those truths are vital and priceless. They work! They will set one free from his sin addictions and make him a new creation in Christ. Remember also that spiritually poisonous concepts are still poisonous, regardless who they come from, and can hurt anyone who makes the mistake of accepting them, even if one is drawn to them out of curiosity to learn more about ufos and aliens!
IF Aliens Do Exist
We live in a world filled with religious deception. Therefore, be very careful what you accept as religious truth. Your religious beliefs and behavior now will affect you throughout eternity. Hence, test everything with Scripture and don't believe anything religiously, which isn't found in the Bible. Your SOUL is your most valuable possession (Mk. 8:36,37).
In conclusion, the alien gospel is not harmless but dangerously F-A-R from being Biblical and spiritually wholesome! Aliens and religion do not mix, according to the facts! BTW, IF aliens do exist, then God created them too:And he swore by him [God] who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay!" (Rev 10:6)
