Noteworthy Prayers In The Book Of Psalms

The Holy Spirit inspired Book of Psalms has many wonderful spiritual truths in various forms scattered throughout it. When the reader focuses in upon prayers from the Book of Psalms he will be reading actual Holy Spirit inspired prayers. Such prayers magnify what is important in God's sight. Most of those prayers come from David, but regardless the source, they were inspired by the Spirit of God and important to learn from:

Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies. (Psa 141:3,4)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psa 139:23,24)

In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. (Psa 5:3)

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. (Psa 57:1)

Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psa 19:12-14)

Show me, O LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. (Psa 39:4)

Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. (Psa 86:11)

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psa 90:12)

The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, save me!” The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. (Psa 116:3-6)

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psa 119:10,11)

Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law. (Psa 119:29)

Biblical Prayers To Pray Daily

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. (Psa 119:35-37)

Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands. (Psa 119:66)

May my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be put to shame. (Psa 119:80)

Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. (Psa 119:132,133)
