Everything spiritual comes back to God's written word, which people desperately need to hear (Rom. 10:13-15), and we Christians have ALL been commanded and charged to SPREAD it (Jn. 17:18; Acts 8:4; etc.).
Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then THE DEVIL COMES AND TAKES AWAY THE WORD FROM THEIR HEARTS, so that they may not believe and be saved. (Luke 8:12)Again, GOD WANTS ALL OF HIS CHILDREN TO SPREAD THE WORD. The spiritual significance of the impact of his word is beyond our finite understanding, and it must go forth and be spread.
For both the saved and lost alike to hear God's word read publicly will bless the listeners with PRICELESS ETERNAL TRUTH. For the saved, it will remind them of precious truths and hopefully stir them to do more for the Lord. As for the lost, they will become aware of their horrible spiritual condition, that is, that their sins are dragging them to HELL, thereby showing them their glaring need to REPENT and unashamedly follow the LORD JESUS here to the end.
JESUS himself (Jn. 7:37,38; Mt. 26:55; 5:1,2; etc.) and his apostles (Acts 5:20-25; 17:17; 28:23; etc.) declared God's word openly, in PUBLIC, and before a mixed crowd (of both believers and unbelievers). Apollos debated publicly (Acts 18:28).
Until I come, DEVOTE YOURSELF TO THE PUBLIC READING OF SCRIPTURE, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. (1 Tim 4:13-15)Not everyone is able to preach and teach God's word, but if you can read and you are obedient, YOU can PUBLICLY READ SCRIPTURE for the benefit of others. PRAY TO GOD BEFOREHAND and GO. ALL CHRISTIANS, MALE AND FEMALE, CAN DO THIS WITH GOD'S HELP. That includes YOU.
Hold the megaphone in one hand and the provided list of scriptures in the other hand. Be bold. Be fearless. SPREAD GOD'S WORD as the early Christians did. People are perishing and YOU can at least help some in this way. Do not be conquered by fear or adversity. TRUST GOD, BE WISE AND GO.
Let the Scriptures speak for themselves to the people from the list provided here. It is PURE TRUTH and the people DESPERATELY need scripture truth.
So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. HE READ IT ALOUD FROM DAYBREAK TILL NOON as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law. EZRA THE SCRIBE STOOD ON A HIGH WOODEN PLATFORM BUILT FOR THE OCCASION.... (Neh. 8:2-4)
SHOUT IT ALOUD, DO NOT HOLD BACK. RAISE YOUR VOICE LIKE A TRUMPET. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the house of Jacob their sins. (Isa. 58:1)SOULS ARE PERISHING while the saints delay. Do NOT wait any longer. GET READY and GO. Review the aforementioned list of scriptures beforehand, buy or borrow a megaphone and PUBLICLY READ OFF THE SCRIPTURES.
If you can't get a megaphone, then LIFT UP YOUR VOICE and read the scriptures without amplification. Do it for their sake, AND YOUR SAKE TOO - spread the Word via the public reading of scripture. This command is EASY to fulfill and FRUITFUL, even possibly to the point of saving of souls and encouraging the saints. YOUR OBEDIENT EXAMPLE will spur others on to do more for God too; so, don't allow the devil to fill your mind with doubts and fears.
IF you live in the USA, you have the first amendment right to freedom of speech and to practice your religion. Be sure not to block the passage and flow of the pedestrians on the sidewalk, and just UNASHAMEDLY SPREAD GOD'S WORD - PUBLICLY READ THE SCRIPTURES. In some cities, but not all, you may need to obtain a permit to use a megaphone. Do what you can and GO.Finally, brothers, pray for US THAT THE MESSAGE OF THE LORD MAY SPREAD RAPIDLY AND BE HONORED, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. (2 Thess. 3:1,2)
Multitudes are traveling the EASY road to HELL, and they are not even aware of it; they need GOD'S TRUTH. They need to be WARNED and YOU can do that. They need THE SCRIPTURES to better understand spiritual reality and especially how to get cleansed and forgiven. They are clueless that this earthly life is their TEST for eternity - their one shot.
Now that you know what to do and how EASY and effective it can be, WILL YOU BE OBEDIENT? SOULS are waiting and are hanging in the balance.
A voice says, "CRY OUT ." And I said, "WHAT SHALL I CRY?" "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, BUT THE WORD OF OUR GOD STANDS FOREVER." (Isa. 40:6-8)
Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns. The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity." (Psa. 96:10)
Remember: The earliest Christians faced issues ranging from severe persecution unto death to various legal issues to spread God's word publicly and in private settings. GO WITH THE LIFE-GIVING TRUTH. SOULS ARE PERISHING. Spread God's word, as God wants. MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT FOR GOD.
Also, you can ask others (other believers) to pray for you, especially if you are planning a special trip or outing to witness. After you return from your evangelism, give a praise report via email and thank them for their prayers which surely helped; that feedback will also encourage other Christians and may also motivate them to actively seek opportunities to spread the gospel (plan of salvation). Again, PRAY BEFORE YOU GO.
