David Cloud Gets
The False Teacher's Award

Who Is David Cloud of Wayoflife.org

Independent Baptist David Cloud of wayoflife.org gets the Skull And Crossbones Award for his deadly teaching connected with eternal security. David Cloud tries to expose and correct false teachings of our day while he himself teaches
and tries to defend a doctrine which has led to the damnation of multitudes -- eternal security.
Hank Hanegraaff is the same way. Among his other heretical statements, Mr. David Cloud declared the following at http://www.wayoflife.org/fbns/eternalsecurity.htm under the title of "ETERNAL SECURITY AND PROBLEM PASSAGES," but has since changed the page, probably because of this expose of his bible distortions. The real problem passages for eternal security are into the hundreds and many are cited here, Bible Questions Related To Salvation Security. This is what David Cloud wants us to believe:
If a Christian is lazy and carnal, he will be chastened by the Lord (Heb. 12:6-8), and if he does not respond, God will take him home .

In other words, David Cloud just said once a person gets saved he can afterwards become lazy and carnal, remain unrepentant and God will kill him and take him home (to heaven)! The grace changers, like David Cloud, call such a reprehensible teaching the sin unto death.

Though David Cloud did not elaborate on his understanding of carnal it would have to include the sins of King David (adultery and murder); the sins of Solomon (idolatry), the sins of Peter (disowning Jesus three times), the sins of the prodigal son (wild living and being with prostitutes), etc.

The Reality Of The Christian Life vs David Cloud Ministries

Why doesn't David Cloud teach the following truths of God: We are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8,9) but we can fall from grace (Gal. 5:2-4). We are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1) but our faith can become shipwrecked (1 Tim. 1:19,20) and cease to exist (Lk. 8:13; Rom. 11:19-23). We are not under the law (Rom. 6:14, 15) but if you live according to the sinful nature you will die (Rom. 8:13).

Paul taught against legalism (Gal. 5:3,4) but he also taught that no immoral, impure or greedy person has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God (Eph. 5:5-7). We are not saved by works (Eph. 2:8,9) but to reap eternal life and not destruction you must sow to please the Spirit and not the sinful nature (Gal. 6:8,9). God is faithful to us (1 Jn. 1:9; 1 Cor. 10:13) but we must be faithful to him to the very end of our lives to escape the lake of fire or second death (Rev. 2:10,11). God surely loves us (Jn. 3:16; Mk. 10:21; Rom. 8:35-39) but those who inherit the kingdom of God love God (Jam 2:5; 1 Cor. 2:9) and to love God means to obey his commands (Jn. 14:15; 1 Jn. 5:3).

We have freedom in Christ (Gal. 5:1) but this freedom is not to indulge the sinful nature (Gal. 5:13; 1 Pet 2:16). These Christian beliefs are all Bible-based and evangelical. Also the unrepentant lukewarm will be cast out of Jesus' body, according to Jesus (Rev. 3:16) and the unfruitful (lazy) will be cast into the fire (Mt. 7:19; John 15:1-6).

Independent Baptist Testifies About Once Saved Always Saved

Spiritual Death is Clouded By David Cloud

It is also clear that David Cloud has dangerously misapplied die in Rom. 8:13 to cloud the issue to preserve eternal security by using it for mere physical death instead of spiritual death as it warns of. David Cloud, like so many others, teaches confusion and a double message. He wants it both ways. David Cloud also teaches this:

The one who permanently falls away demonstrates that he did not belong to the Lord in the first place... [ibid.]
He just got done saying in so many words, you can permanently fall away by not responding (not repenting) and you will still go to heaven after God strikes you dead. But here is his double message, if one permanently falls away he was never saved. (Which is it?) What about if one just falls away for 35 years, then later returns? David Cloud would have to say that such a person remained saved in all of that wickedness over 35 years because it was not permanent! David Cloud also wrote:
To do the will of the Father is certainly not the way to Heaven. It is the evidence of genuine faith in Christ; it is the proof of regeneration. [ibid.]

That is how he comments on Mt. 7:21. WHY does David Cloud oppose the clear teaching of the Lord Jesus in Mt. 7:21? Because his heretical doctrine allows for salvation without doing God's will in wickedness like adultery, murder, idolatry, visiting prostitutes, disowning Jesus, etc. Here is how Mt. 7:21 reads:

Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat 7:21)

David Cloud just called Jesus in Mt. 7:21 a liar by his putrid attempt to defend the devil's first lie -- the righteous won't die spiritually through sin (Gen. 3:4). David Cloud also tries to conceal how obviously demonic his doctrine is by his explanations, but it can't work. A license for immorality goes with his beloved doctrine of once saved always saved and that can't be changed, because such a myth goes with their Christian adulterers, Christian drunks, Christian thieves, etc.

The Bible is clear in stating that David Cloud, and all other eternal security teachers are false teachers spreading dangerous lies with their empty words about grace, the cross, eternal life, salvation, etc. True grace teaching declares:

For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person -- such a man is an idolater -- has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. (Eph 5:5-7)
David Cloud, take this personal message to heart from me (Dan Corner): For your own soul's sake and the many souls you are influencing, renounce this horrendous damnable heresy of eternal security, even though it will cost you your ministry and livelihood. Nothing is worth going to hell over.

The most exhaustive and comprehensive refutation to eternal security ever written is the 801 page volume, The Believer's Conditional Security. There is MUCH in it that can help you better understand this salvation related subject. You can order your copy here at Evangelical Books.

Do not be deceived: Though David Cloud might accurately expose and refute some false teachers, he himself is a ravenous wolf in sheep's clothing who is stumbling many. Do NOT be deceived by David Cloud and Wayoflife.org.
