God's Truth Is Eternal

What Is God's Truth

God's truth is God's word (John 17:17). God's word is the Bible. Therefore, God's truth is the Bible. God's truth is spiritual truth, unlike all other truth. It is the most unique and precious truth on the planet! It is alive (Heb. 4:12). Furthermore, it is spirit and life (Jn. 6:63).

God's Truth Is Uniquely Sharp And Can Severely Hurt

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Heb 4:12)
God's word is sharper than any double edged sword (Heb. 4:12). God's truth is also an invisible reality that will deeply HURT and afflict the recipients (Acts 2:37) or comfort and strengthen them (Micah 2:7), based on their present tense spiritual condition. Your present view of scripture is a good checkpoint for your present tense spiritual condition. It is a good spiritual self examination.

God's Truth Can Produce A Murderous Hate

Furthermore, the truth about God's truth is, it can hurt severely in such an unusual and deep way that wicked people want to persecute, even to death, the righteous who proclaim God's truth. A prime example is adulterous Herodius, who wanted John the Baptist dead, because he called attention to her counterfeit marriage to Herod. To her, God's truth spoken through John must have seemed like the so called misnamed hate speech.
In reality, it was really love speech for her soul, but not perceived that way by the unrepentant sinful. John the Baptist was a true holiness preacher, who didn't refrain from publicly speaking the unpopular truth about that unique type of adultery from a remarriage (Mark 6:17-19). Similarly, Paul's enemies pursed him and tried to murder him on more than one occasion. His crime was speaking out God's truth for their good, so they could get forgiven! That was Paul's evangelism. Even the PERFECT Lord Jesus was viciously hated and religious people conspired to kill him over God's truth!

God's Truth is Vital

I once believed the doctrines of Catholicism that I was taught as a young boy. Finding the life saving truth, that is, God's truth by reading the Bible was a vital necessity for my soul. If it wasn't for finding God's truth, I would have remained in religious fiction and gone to hell through Catholicism. Just like billions of others who are sincere but religiously deceived, my greatest need and discovery was to come face to face with God's disturbing truths! Wow! It was shocking and hurtful, but it was also precious and vital. The blaze of God's light hurts when you are in spiritual darkness like a flood light shining in your eyes! I knew it wasn't going away! I could choose to walk away from the Bible, but it's not going to change God's truth at all.

God's truth is the truth and will never change, just like God doesn't change. It is as it is. Take it or leave it. Love it or hate it, it's not going to change. It is the medicine for the religiously deceived people, who are in a horrible spiritual deception and desperately need help. God's truth is the remedy to their lost condition, if they receive it! God's truth is most helpful for that. In fact, it is the only remedy and cure. The value and preciousness of God's truth makes the devil, the father of lies (Jn. 8:44) and false teachers hate it. Shocking as it may seem, some people were even put to death (by the Catholic church) for translating the Bible into the language of common man so they could read it for themselves. William Tyndale was such a man. Surely, the devil was behind that and all attempts to hinder the spread of God's truth.

Buy God's Truth

The Bible says:
Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding. (Prov 23:23)
How do you buy God's truth? You buy it by sincerely and prayerfully seeking it out from searching through the pages of the bible and comparing scripture with scripture. To sell God's truth (or exchange God's truth) for anything is always a bad exchange. It will cost you your SOUL and drag people to hell with you, even if you aren't in a teaching leadership position. You do have a circle of influence on others and what you do and say matters for yourself and others.

I Tell You The Truth

The Lord Jesus Christ is not only eternal life (1 John 1:2), he is the truth in the flesh (Jn. 14:6). He is also the Word of God (John 1:1 cf. 1:14; Rev. 19:13). That helps to answer the question, Who is Jesus Christ. God's truth and eternal life go together, as sound doctrine and holiness do. Never forget that. One vitally needs God's truth to get eternal life and Jesus has the words of eternal life (Jn. 6:68)! Here are some of the wonderful truths he spoke. See if they hurt or bless you. Either way, they are God's truth:
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Mat 5:28,29)

All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mat 10:22)

But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. (Mat 10:33)

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels. (Mark 8:38)

Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Mat 10:37,38)

Those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:29)

I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death. (John 8:51)

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Rev 2:4,5)

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Rev 2:10,11)

I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. (Rev 2:19,20)

Do you love God's truth? Love it or hate it, God's truth isn't going to change, but you can change and align yourself up with God's truth!
