Letters To Evangelical Outreach

Various Bible Issues Answered

I have so long wondered about Nostradamus. I read one book that said that he was a Jew, converted to a believer in Christ, and another that said he was an occultist. I have at least one friend who believes he was a prophet, I can't wait to tell him about this web site. Thank you, Jesus bless.

....................

I wanted to compliment you again on your work on Nostradamus. There has been "much" confusion in these last months especially, due to all the quotes made by Jack Van Impe. Between the Pope, Nostradamus, and others, the sayings of the Lord seem to pale into insignificance. His last few broadcasts have let me know that he has completely left the faith "once delivered to the Saints." I woke up this morning, with the question of: Who is sounding "any kind" of an alarm today, against the false teachings of the "end time prophets"?

[You can read our article, which exposes the demon possessed occultist and false prophet, Nostradamus]

....................

I am terribly disappointed to see a website committed to the "gospel," bash a man like Zane Hodges. Zane is a [sic] excellent biblical scholar who presents a clear presentation of the gospel!! I thank the Lord daily for men like Zane, who take the gospel for what it is, an undeserving gift from God and not something one has to watch over their shoulder all the time to "make sure" one is saved. If we must do anything to earn or keep our salvation then Christ's death and resurrection was [sic] in vain. I will pray that you will open your mind to the teaching of men like Zane Hodges, so you do not have to live in bondage of the Law any longer.

Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Among many other things, this ministry contends for the faith against teachers that have changed the grace of God into a license for immorality (Jude 3,4). This is a perfect way to describe Zane Hodges and other OSAS teachers. After Hodges gets done with you, you'll think that living holy and teaching holiness is "the Law" as you have unjustly accused us of.

Remember Hodges not only denies that repentance is necessary for salvation, like Dave Hunt and others, but also teaches that one can be sexually immoral, a drunkard, thief, etc. and be a Christian if he ever had a moment of true faith. This is clearly antithetical to the Biblical message of grace. True grace is described in Titus 2:12 and 1 Thess. 4:7,8 among other places. To be sexually immoral is to be presently UNSAVED, even if one was once saved (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Gal. 5:19-21; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc.). If you don't want to order our 801 page book refuting Hodges and other OSAS teachers at least read the following chapter www.evangelicaloutreach.org/initial.htm. Ponder Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14 and Rev. 2:10,11. GOD BLESS YOU.

....................

I have been reading a lot on the internet lately and have come to one conclusion. That although I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, I have fallen into sin. I have been trying to talk to people about this but this has failed because I am in a new town and don't know that many people. I am getting married in July but that too is the result of sexual sin. I am very ashamed of the way I have been acting but I want to know how to make this right with God. I feel so unworthy and I feel as though I can not even pray to Him anymore because of my actions. Please E-mail me some advice. Thank you.

Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Please know that you are not alone. Others have fallen to sexual sin also. But, THERE IS HOPE. They came back to the Lord, and you can come back. Remember that King David served God for decades before he fell to adultery and murder. Please pray the same prayer that David prayed to God, that is, pray Psalm 51 sincerely from your heart directly to the Lord. God is not a respecter of persons.

It is the devil who is deceiving you into thinking that you cannot pray. God WANTS you to repent (turn from the sin of sexual immorality), renounce and confess that sin and come back to him. He is not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9). Jesus taught that the Prodigal Son was both dead and lost when he was in sexual immorality, but became ALIVE AGAIN when he repented and returned to the Father to serve him (Lk. 15:24,32). He turned from his sin and returned to the Lord. Prov. 28:13 states:

"He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."
Don't waste anymore time. 2 Cor. 7:10 states:
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death."
Your email stating that you are "ashamed of the way I have been acting but I want to know how to make this right with God" is a good sign. Remember this about God:
"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy." (Micah 7:18)

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

Please see Biblical repentance. Please let us know if we can help you further. GOD BLESS YOU.

I am a Blood-bought, Blood-washed, changed
and transformed by the power of God, EX-Lesbian
.

....................

I have read this letter [to David Wilkerson] and was not really shocked due to seeing the downward proclivity in which the churches are headed today. At our church we have begun a name profile on all religious leaders, whether good or bad, and have been compiling info on their activities and agendas. That was the shock! The shock is over, now it's time for war. So I'm adding this letter to it, thank you! We appreciate the great labor you guys have put into your book on OSAS.

Anyway back to my point. The reason I'm writing is because of one of the issues stated in the letter about struggling with homosexuality. I am a Blood-bought, Blood-washed, changed and transformed by the power of God, EX Lesbian and transgenderized individual. That is why I am so on fire for the Lord because He saved me and changed me, I couldn't have done it without the Gospel, but I have literally became a new creature. At first it was hard, and I even went to an ex-gay ministries (3yrs) and I was better informed but not better. I knew something was wrong. I inquired more about it and found out they were all from the Vineyard movement and 75% of them were therapists, and God showed me Jer. 6, about healing the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying peace when there is no peace. That is what prompted me into the WORD.

I worked with my Pastor, and I began to do word studies dealing in the areas of my struggles, reading works by Finney, Wesley, and started to SSEEEE things much better. Well as I found the real Jesus and the real Gospel. I just want you to know that I got free from Jesus alone not an ex-gay ministry. Not only I but my brother too, we were both homosexuals and changed 100% by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you can use our testimonies anytime, anywhere you want to.

I know people hate us for telling the truth, but even though the gift of salvation was free to us, the price didn't come cheap, we had to weed out stuff, die to things, ways of thinking and so on, but by the Grace of God, it's a privilege, and a joy to be able to run from that life, it's a person's own fault and choice to stay there in that lifestyle and sit there chained up. I say when Jesus unlocks the chains run and never look back. To even look back, means that going back is still an option, to go back would mean to do despite to the Spirit of Grace. Sorry to write so long of a note but Brother, I cannot help it people are cheapening the Gospel and my Jesus and I will not back down, they can change no matter what they say, it's just their excuse to gratify their selfish little lusts that they refuse to let go of, just like every other sinner that will not give up their sin. I do not believe in women preachers but I feel like I just got finished preaching a sermon?? God bless. (CA)

After many months, weeks and days
of prayer and study I finally concluded
that eternal security is a deception

....................

Thank you for the information. It will be very helpful to me. I also wanted to ask how you came to see the truth about eternal security. This would be very interesting to me because I had the idea for a long time that I seemed to be the only one in the entire country that did not believe in the concept of eternal security. For me, rejecting the doctrine of eternal security was an agonizing and life changing event. It began when someone challenged me to prove that eternal security is the truth. I spent the next 2 years in intense study. I seemed to be obsessed with it. I didn't feel that I could do anything until I knew the truth about it. After many months, weeks and days of prayer and study I finally concluded that eternal security is a deception. I felt a sense of peace because I finally understood the truth on the subject. I also could now read the Bible and actually understand it without having to distort its meaning in order to make it consistent with the doctrine of eternal security. It seemed as if once I understood the truth on this subject so many things started to really make sense. The only negative that came out of it is that I was voted out of my church. Did you have this kind of experience? One last thing. I once wanted to see how far the Baptists would go in their defense of eternal security so I asked this question: If someone genuinely gets saved, but 2 years later they reject the truth and become Satan worshipers who commit sins worse then Adolf Hitler and spend the rest of their life in this ungodly state are they still saved? To my amazement the answer was yes they are still saved. I am probably going to order the book when I get paid next week. Thank you so much for your encouragement.

....................

Jesus saved me from the gay life that I was living before my conversion! My name is ... and I am 24 years old. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in August 1997. Jesus saved me from the gay life that I was living before my conversion! Amen! First of all I used to believe Pastors such as Tony Evans, Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, etc. about Eternal Security. I want to bless you and thank you for being honest about what Scripture says, and GOD will bless you richly because of your stand on the bible and what THE BIBLE teaches, not what Calvin in the mid-1500 did. I wanted to show you how destructive the "Once Saved, Always Saved" false doctrine got me into. Even though I had become a Christian in 1997, I was still struggling with some issues in my life, not serious ones though. However in late of 1998, I met a guy on the internet and we "fell in love." He accepted Jesus in 1998, I lead him to the Lord on Sept 22, 1998. I live in ... and he lives in ... I really wanted to move down with him ... and be with him, but I knew that would not please GOD. However, one day, I was listening to a sermon by Charles Stanley, I think, and he said "You can do whatever you what and still go to heaven" ... That's what I have been wanting to hear! I thought to myself, you know what, I can be like the dog and go back to my vomit and still have Jesus in my life, be saved, have gay sex etc., and be on my way to heaven! YES!!! This is it! So I shared the idea with my friend, and he hesitated at first, but I finally got him to believe that once saved always saved! So we even made plans to live together, due to this "eternal security" doctrine. I finally came to my senses, and we didn't do it. It's been over a year now and GOD has worked things out, and now we relate to each other as TRUE Brothers in Christ. I just wanted to let you know what this false doctrine almost did to my life. Thank you for your stand on what the Bible really says! I have bought your book, and cannot wait to get it ... GOD BLESS you!!!!!!

Thank you so much for alerting me to David Wilkerson's waffling on the conditional security stance he once held. I too had been recommending him, for in the eighties, his letters were bold and mighty to speak the truth against false prophets and false teachings. I did not continue receiving his letters for a few years, then when I requested them again, I noticed a pictorial glorification of the city of New York and the word "Pulpit" in his series title, both of which seemed to trouble me. There was a definite difference in tone of his letters as well ... Again, thanks for the alert. I don't remember if I caught it or not, but DW is not the same.

....................

Dear Friends, I was pleasantly surprised to find [out] about your ministry. Several years ago I did an extensive 2 year study of the Bible and eventually concluded that the Bible does not teach the concept of eternal security. I realized that my only reason for ever believing it was my ignorance of what the Bible actually taught. Since then I have come to see that the teaching of eternal security is a very dangerous and deceptive false teaching ... I believe that this false doctrine will cause many to fall away and end up going to hell. I believe that our faith is something that has to be protected and guarded. Sin destroys faith. Any Christian who engages in sin will eventually lose their faith and fall away. Believing that it is impossible to fall away makes a Christian less fearful of sin and therefore easier to be deceived into giving their life over to sin. I have felt for several years that I was alone. It seemed as if I was the only person on this planet that seemed to understand that sin is dangerous and deadly to a Christian. At this point in my life I have no interest in being part of any church that teaches eternal security. That false doctrine pervades every part of any message that is preached. Therefore, I have not attended any church for several years because I cannot find a church that doesn't teach eternal security. Thank you for your encouragement. I plan to order your book on the subject.

We have been reading your work on this book and it is an awesome job. We are Arminian Baptists and this is the perfect tool for the battle on the OSAS issue. We noticed the copyright info and you are a blessing and truly a servant of Jesus Christ. We have a library of tracts on various issues, cults, and "isms," and several books printed in tract form chapter by chapter. So I guess it is OK to do this with your book? You will definitely get all the credit. Thank you and God bless. PS: We heard your debate with Dave Hunt, it was great, he used the usual style of trying to wiggle out of the truth, with humor, and the incomplete passages of Scripture. Keep up the great work for God.

I read your material and came to know that man must be aware of Seventh Day Adventists. To my knowledge I studied their correspondence bible lesson. As you said, discovered verse by verse. I did not get any thing contradicting with the bible. Of course their worship service is very cold which I dislike. Please, would you point out some points regarding them. Thank you (Sweden)

[Comment: He was pointed to several articles we have on our website which refute Seventh Day Adventism]

Some of the messages posted regarding Catholics are appalling. Despite the fact that you say they were "posted in Christian Love" you are sending out a message of discrimination. The defamation of Mother Theresa upset me the most, she wanted to reach out to all people and she did, never condemning anyone - THAT is what Christianity is about, not the awful Literalist road that so many have taken. I wish more Protestants would respect the Religion that their sect was born from.

[Response: Please know that what you call discrimination is nothing other than the Biblical message. If you would please look up the corresponding references in your own Bible, verifying them for yourself, you would be quite surprised regarding the message that Jesus and his apostles taught. Salvation is not found in any church, sacraments, Mary or good works. It is found by placing faith in Jesus Christ who died for our sins. Our faith in him must be a trusting, submitting and enduring faith which produces holy living and good fruit to enter the kingdom. This is the true message of the Bible, under the umbrella of saving grace. Regarding Mother Teresa, there can be no doubt that she did many kind acts in her years in India. But please know the Bible does not say that such will save one's eternal soul from eternal fire! Mother Teresa, being a good Catholic nun, was not trusting in the Savior of the Bible as evident by her beliefs. Furthermore, if she believed what Jesus taught she would have to tell Hindus and others that Jesus is the only way to heaven. In other words, she would have to speak out against Hinduism if she believed Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 2:5. Finally, it is inaccurate to assume that Protestantism came from Catholicism. The Lord Jesus and his apostles preached and lived Protestant doctrine. They were not Catholics. Peter was not the first pope. Mary was not the Queen of Heaven or mediatrix of all graces, etc. Please read through the New Testament for yourself with an open mind, being willing to change accordingly. GOD BLESS YOU.]

Recently I had the privilege of viewing the book, The Believer's Conditional Security. I believe this book will be of great value to my library. I also listened to the tape, What's wrong with today's gospel? I enjoyed it tremendously and plan to distribute it among my friends. I recently checked out your web site and noticed that you have a large selection of great material. I am very interested in receiving a catalog of your material. It is good to know that there are others "contending for the faith." The fallacy of the OSAS doctrine must be exposed. Keep up the good work!

I am not sure how I ended up on your mailing list, but thank you, thank you, thank you. I found your publication to be insightful, scriptural, and right to the point. As a ... Pastor, I am constantly telling my people that serving Christ is more than putting on your "Church Face" and showing up on Sunday Mornings fifteen minutes before everybody else. I am not totally convinced that the truth of God's Word is sinking in. God help us. Please continue sending me your materials as I fully intend to share your comments with my congregation. Thanks again and May God richly bless you. (WV)

... according to my old church (Southern Baptist) and teachers, I am born again Christian. I am 44 years old. I have not attended nor worshiped in over 4 years. I have not opened my bible in over 2 years until tonight. My life is in a constant state of turmoil. I have a lot of anger and guilt inside of me that I unleash on those that love and care for me - which was the case before I became a Christian. When I first became a Christian I really thought my life would change, which it did for a few years. I did all the so-called "Christian things, Christian talk and so forth." And I really enjoyed it. I felt good about myself. My wife also joined the church. We believed that life was going to be great even when we were having serious financial problems. We had good friends, a reason to keep going, and a focus for our family. But somewhere in there the old feelings started to creep back in. I started doubting my faith, I started to see the flaws in my Christian friends, the flaws in the church. I stared blaming myself for my weakness, slowly my anger and bitterness started to take control again. I slowly quit attending church. I stopped seeing my friends from church. I decided that I would rather not call myself a Christian than to call myself one and feel like a hypocrite. Needless to say since I left that church I have returned to my worldly ways - which at first I enjoyed and thought I had tempered them to a respectful level. But it seems to be getting worse and I don't like the way I feel about things any more. I know God is saddened by my behavior, but I don't know what to do. I believe in God and I will answer for my sins but I have lost my faith and this where I find myself as I write to you. I don't know why I am writing to you. I happened on your site by accident. I don't [know] what to think anymore. Thank you anyway.

[Response: Greetings in JESUS' holy name. We were saddened to read your letter, but glad that you wrote. Yes, the Southern Baptists would say that you are still saved even though you lost your faith. To be blunt, this concept is NOT Scriptural. The issue now is what do you do? The first place to begin would be to cry out to God and ask Him for help. Ask Him to forgive and restore you. Please know you can come back to God:

"My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." (James 5:19,20)
Your sins will be covered by the cleansing blood of Jesus when you repent (turn from your sins). Please know that after one comes to the Lord, there is going to be a spiritual battle for the soul. The devil will try to get you back. Oftentimes people don't recognize this because of false teachings such as what you have heard - eternal security. We are to live our life for Jesus with the whole armor of God in place. We need all of the armour in our battle! See Eph. 6:11-18. PLEASE read the following article: www.evangelicaloutreach.org/initial.htm. Also, listen to the following message, Enter Through the Narrow Gate. Please check back with us in a few days and let us know how you are doing. GOD BLESS YOU.]

I would like to not only thank God but also the writer of the article "His Ashes Cry Out Against John Calvin." I was having a hard time coming up with points about Calvinism to a co-worker. He is the first person I have been in contact with who ever mentioned it other than being a Calvinist. My ignorance in the matter was frustrating but your information is enough to go back to him with and try to let him see what he is dealing with. Some people say that the computer takes away from a Christian, but this is one instance where I may have been lost without it.

You are crazy man. Blinded brother I'll pray for ya the teaching is a bible doctrine and it is eternal security! [sic]

.....................

... sorcery is always
condemned in the Scriptures.

....................

If you look at the original Hebrew word in the place of where witch was and literally translate it to English you will NOT get witch or wizard you will instead get poisonous or one who poisons. That in no way shape or form describes myself or another witch I have ever met. King James had a disagreement with a couple witches and when he translated the bible he put witch in there instead of Poisonous. These Poisonous do not even exist anymore and had no affiliation with Wicca, Witchcraft, or Magick when they did exist. So next time you want to quote your bible quote it accurately not with the Grievance of King James.

[Response: You have been misinformed about what you wrote. The actual word from which "witch" comes from is kashaph, kaw-shaf'; a prim. root; prop. to whisper a spell, i.e. to inchant or practise magic: - sorcerer, (use) witch (-craft). This is an incredible statement [about King James]! Who told you that? What is the source? Can you document this information? Please know that we do not usually quote the King James Bible [because of the archaic words]! Regardless the translation we may use, as long as it is a reputable one, sorcery is always condemned in the Scriptures. NEVER is it allowed or condoned. We are ALWAYS informed that those who practice the magic arts will be excluded from God's kingdom and will be thrown into the lake of fire unless they repent of their evil behavior. Please read Deut. 18:10-12; Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8; 22:15 in several Bibles and you will see what I am telling you is true. God bless you.]

Dear Brothers in Christ, I feel such joy inside as I listened to your audio tapes! It is so good to hear someone so knowledgeable on this subject. I have always believed that you could lose your salvation. It is a subject that when brought up is very touchy. Most people say that everyone has their own beliefs and they should not cause divisions by bringing up the subject. Is it causing division if you tell people the truth? I am taking a course in Romans. I was given a booklet called "Suicide and the church." The Pastor's son had committed suicide and he left a note saying that "He was not depressed, he just wanted to try a new life." This is quoted in the booklet. Larry Taylor states that there is no doubt in his mind that his son is in Heaven. I feel that this booklet (he also has a book out) with the same name, is going to lead people down the wrong road and think that it is alright to commit suicide and you can still go to heaven! I am still very troubled by this. I am so glad that my brother had given me your website, it only confirms what I already believed, but I will tell you, it makes me want to shout from the housetops, the truth about this false doctrine!!!!!

....................

I liked your writing on angels which I came upon from a yahoo search looking for angels (I like pictures of powerful angels - they are very inspirational). I have a question that I was wondering if you could help me with. I'm not very knowledgeable about scripture. There is a passage in the bible, I believe in revelations that says how many people will go to Heaven. I believe the number is around 144,000. This worries me because I'm not the worst person in the world but I'm surely not one of the 144,000 most faithful or righteous people to have ever lived. Some people tell me this translation is just figurative. But no one ever goes into detail. Can you help me out with this? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Please know that the 12,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel (equaling 144,000) as mentioned in Rev. chapters 7 and 14 does not state that they will be the only ones that will enter heaven! That belief is a Jehovah's Witness belief and it is not Scriptural. (The JW's are wrong about MANY of their teachings.) Let's take a look at those passages by focusing in on the words "before the throne":

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. (Rev 14:1) And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. (Rev 14:2) And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. (Rev 14:3)
Then in chapter 7 we read:
After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. (Rev 7:9) And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."(Rev 7:10) All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, (Rev 7:11) saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!" (Rev 7:12) Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes - who are they, and where did they come from?" (Rev 7:13) I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Rev 7:14) Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. (Rev 7:15)
Please note, according to Rev. 14, the 144,000 are "before the throne." If they are in heaven, then there are MANY others in heaven as well because that same phrase "before the throne" is also found in 7:9 and refers to a great multitude that no man can count! Please remember this: the Jehovah's Witnesses and others take part of the Rev. 14:1-3 passage literally and part of it figuratively. In other words, the number they take literally but they figuratively interpret the Israelite tribes to mean something other than Israelites! Jesus taught,
"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me." (John 12:26)
From the above passage, Jesus taught that all of his servants will be in the same place as he is! Hence, since Jesus is in heaven, all of his servants, which exceeds 144,000, will certainly be in heaven with him according to Jesus himself! We hope this helps you. Write back if we can help you again. GOD BLESS YOU.]
