[Response: Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. Thank you for your kind words about our book. We are blessed that you are no longer deceived by the devil's lie of OSAS. It is to your great spiritual advantage to know the truth on this issue. Regarding abortion, yes it is murder, but you can receive forgiveness for that sin just as King David received forgiveness for his act of murder. Perhaps it would do you well to pray Psalm 51 to God from your heart. It was written by David after his adultery and murder. Notice in verse 17 that God will not despise a broken and contrite spirit. David received forgiveness and you can too. You are not the exception to the Bible! The cleansing blood of Jesus will wash away your sins too! To be ashamed of sin is a good sign (Rom. 6:21). Prov. 28:13 states,
"He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."And Psalm 103:12 states,
"as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."When you find salvation and forgiveness from the Lord, he remembers your sins no more. (See Heb. 8:12.) You begin with a clean slate! Also, it is to your advantage to "be afraid" and not arrogant about your security in Christ, according to Rom. 11:19-23:
"You will say then, 'Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.' Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again."It may help you to read over our article on Biblical repentance. If we can help you further, please let us know. We'd be glad to do so. GOD BLESS YOU.]
I found your website and have spent hours reviewing some of the most sound doctrine I've heard in years in one place ... Your apologetics on OSAS are the most scripturally sound I have ever seen. Keep up the great work that God has appointed you to.
.... I have been a Christian for just 4 years. During this time, I have encountered many bible passages whose meanings weren't clear. I understand now that these "muddy waters" resulted from my cognitive dissonance between the prevailing misinterpretation I had accepted from major 20th century bible teachers and the clear simplicity of the verses themselves. During this lenten season recently past God revealed the truth of conditional security to me. All my confusion instantly cleared up. The Scriptures have opened up to me as never before. I am still amazed at the deception of unconditional security believed by the majority of bible teachers today. And of course I'm so pleased that God would reveal this essential truth to me. It is a dangerous lie with dangerous consequences. I see examples all around me. Since this revelation, my question to God has been "What do you want me to do with this?" I feel the burden to do something to wake up the church to this truth. At least I would like to have someone to talk to about this. What can we do? (Of course, constant prayer is a must.) Please send me any information you can about your organization and the topic of conditional security (i.e., catalog, apologetics quarterly). Thank you very much.
Hi there! I was so glad to hear from you. You have been a major inspiration to me. You have taught me to know God and follow the word. I know now that in order to get to Heaven you must have eternal trust in God. I have asked him into my heart and into my life and I actually feel a change. I'm not wild like I was in ... (the state I moved from 3 weeks ago). I was doing things I shouldn't have been doing at my age. I would go to wild parties and drink, but that has all changed. I want to thank you for that. I don't have much else to say, but I hope you will write me back soon. Love and prayers.
... I am incarcerated in ... What a beautiful feeling it is to be a new creation in the Lord. My walk with the Lord has been an awesome experience to me. I know that I'm still growing in the Lord's word. I want to acknowledge so much. I truly am seeking the Lord with all my heart. The Lord truly has a call for me in my life. My Lord Jesus Christ has set me free from sin, the drugs, gangs, stealing, lying, cheating, anger, all the hurt and pain, loneliness. He's taken all that away. Many times in my life I should have been dead. I will always wonder why as a sinner I never died. I couldn't understand it. I remember one day I overdosed on cocaine. I just barely made it through. "Why" I don't know. Why, only God knows the answer to that. Brother, I have been in prison most of my life. I can recall my mother always telling me to accept Christ into my life. I would never listen to her. I used to say to myself, "What does God want with me? He doesn't want me, He doesn't love me. He's not for real." My mother would always pray and cry for me so I can change my life. Well that one day did come on September 12, 1998 and I'm very thankful to God and my mom, because now every day I pick up my cross, serve the Lord faithfully, put my Lord Jesus Christ first in my life above everything. I'm living for the Lord now, to be that walking, living testimony to others. Brother, I'm going to close so you take care and may our Lord Jesus Christ be with you in all you do, and bless you and your family.
You web site really jolted me. I will have to go over your materials more carefully to be sure, but it seems that you have an excellent case for saying OSAS is a dangerously untrue doctrine. If you are right, and I will be praying about it, I am grateful. It will help me pray better for others. However, I do have a complaint ... when I saw you lifting up Billy Graham and Charles Stanley for public scorn with ugly cartoons on the internet of all places, it seems to me that while you may have certain Biblical facts straight, I have to wonder: Where is your heart? Where is your mercy? Love is kind! Where is your love? You are warning people to watch out for false teaching. Well, perhaps you had best be careful yourselves. Knowledge of the Bible is incredibly important, but the two commandments of Jesus were to love God and others. Can you honestly say that your trying to make a fool out of two ministers before thousands of web site viewers is a loving thing to do? (I have never heard them hold up anyone for public ridicule or speak unkindly about anyone. Since love trumps [sic] knowledge, it seems likely that they are the ones who are the closest to God.) It was so unnecessary. I was getting the message just fine without all that! May God grant you mercy both from Him and toward others! with true love for others, not just knowledge that passes, in Jesus' Name I pray ... God shows mercy to those who are merciful. Wonder what you are losing out on for eternally [sic] with Him?
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. OSAS is a poisonous teaching. It is amazing how popular this teaching is -- What's Wrong With Today's Gospel? People need more than prayer. They need to hear the truth. Warnings are very important. Christians are commanded to expose the deeds of darkness:
"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." (Eph 5:11)You asked: "Where is your heart? Where is your mercy? Love is kind! Where is your love?" The answer is simple. Our heart is in the truth of God's word. Our love and mercy is for all those unaware of Charles Stanley and Billy Graham. They have been duped into thinking that these men are popular and correct about certain teachings and that would make them sound in all their doctrines, including eternal security. Eternal souls hang in the balance. People will BURN IN HELL FOREVER because of this teaching! It doesn't matter if it comes through a popular teacher or an unknown one. It is still a DEADLY teaching. While it is true that love is kind, the following is also true of GOD'S LOVE:
"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." (1 Cor 13:6)Please ponder Mt. 23. READ IT CAREFULLY. Jesus was VERY LOVING when He openly exposed and refuted the religious leaders of His day! He called them hypocrites, blind guides, blind fools, blind men, stated to them "you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness" and afterwards shockingly called them, "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?" All that was GOD'S PERFECT LOVE AND MERCY, though some might only say it was public ridicule! (Also see John 8:44.) Remember these please:
"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." (1 Cor 13:6)
"The righteous HATE what is false" (Prov 13:5)
"HATE what is evil" (Rom. 12:9).OSAS is false and evil at the same time because it is leading souls to Hell. Those that teach it, whoever they are, need to be exposed and refuted. Such teachers that spread that lie can NOT be acting in love. In fact according to 2 Pet. 2 such false teachers declare their message for financial gain. Can that be love? All of this is how we see God's message and its importance for the sake of souls ... Go by the Bible -- not your emotions. GOD BLESS YOU.]
"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)
... I get so tired of these KJV'ers. I help with junior highers in Awana. We have kids coming that can't even write their home addresses in a way that makes much sense, then we say: here, take this KJV and go home and read it everyday - then we wonder why we lose the kids after [a] while.
I have been searching for a Church that does not teach Calvinism. Does such a Church exist??? I live in ... I am tired of Church hopping. I am tired of thinking I have finally found a Church that teaches sound doctrine only to find out they don't. I want to fellowship with true believers. I am so glad to find out that I am not just a narrow minded legalist. That's what the Calvinist circles say I am. I believe there are many people following the teachings of Calvin without knowing it. I was, although I was always considered a legalist and never quite fit in. Thank you for your book "The Believer's Conditional Security." Every believer should read it!!! If you can, please refer me to a sound Church in my area.
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble finding a sound church in your area, but aren't surprised! We have received MANY letters just like yours from across the USA, and even outside the country, from people who can't find a sound church in their area. We sincerely wonder if we are in the "apostasy" spoken of in Scripture. See 2 Thess. 2:3. We are very glad you have severed connections with Calvinism, which is a false theology from beginning to end. We will be sending off your apologetic quarterly magazine in a day or so. Remember Rev. 21:4. GOD BLESS YOU.]
Dear Brethren, Got your book The Believer's Conditional Security. I am SO GLAD someone has exposed what I believe to be the absolute WORST TEACHING BEING ESPOUSED IN CHRISTIANITY WORLDWIDE TODAY. It is exactly what Jude called turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and precisely what Peter said were "great swelling words of vanity" that "allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantoness, them who are clean escaped from them who live in error" right back into their former sins! OSAS does not "consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness" and is a "proud, knowing NOTHING" so-called "gospel" that we are instructed to withdraw ourselves from! It must be reproved, being the darkness of Satan who said "Ye shall NOT surely die" if you disobey God. It causes division and offenses contrary to sound doctrine, and its fruit is to create unfruitful, wicked, double-minded and deceived individuals who serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own bellies, through teaching "good words and fair speaches" that "deceive the hearts of the simple." It causes highmindedness and haughtiness against the truth, and those that imagine in their hearts that they can have "peace and safety" while they live in their sins, and falsely believe "no evil shall come upon me." It is the root of so much evil in the world today that it can scarcely be calculated. It is the root "fable" that has turned most who profess Christianity away from hearing the truth, and it scratches the itching ears of the wicked. It strengthens the hand of the evildoers, that they will not return from their evil way by promising them life. It makes the heart of the righteous sad, saying to those that despise God "You shall have assured peace in this place ("faith"), and "Ye shall have peace, though you walk after the imagination of your evil heart." It is the doctrine of Sodom and Gomorrah, the doctrine of seducing spirits and devils. May I have permission to post your articles at "Christian" talk forums? I will post them including your address, name, and advertisement for your book, which is excellent. I am hoping you will allow this! Thank you in the name of the Lord of Light and Exposure of Darkness!
Dear friends of Christ, Well, I've shared our emails with a friend who is familiar with this sort of thing, and she thinks you're wrong. I don't know, I hate being confrontational, but I am still at a loss for what you are trying to say. I mean, it's like you preach acceptance but you don't accept my beliefs (ahem, lack thereof) or anyone else who doesn't see things your way and conform to your ideals. Is [that] really what Christ wants? Oh, I have another question. If you follow Jesus, shouldn't you kill yourself? I mean, he died for everyone else's sins, so isn't that the best thing to do if you truly follow his word? I don't get what He wants anyhow. Wouldn't Hell be more fun than heaven, saying that theoretically they both exist. I mean, the sinners all go to hell, so wouldn't [it] be like one big sinful orgy or something? (Komos) Eternal fun or something? And then wouldn't heaven be like always being good or something? I really appreciate you caring, but I've already done so many bad things in life that I'm condemned anyhow, so I don't want to disappoint you but if I'm going to Hell anyway then why not live it up while I'm here? From what you say, it's a pretty irreversible deal. Oh, I don't know, but I had another question. Are drugs bad? I mean, does the bible say they are? And if so, what about crack babies? Are they damned from birth, because of their mother's mistakes? That doesn't seem fair. Anyhow, I guess I'll be spending eternity with Mephisto, but I still see the parallels between him and Christ, so maybe it's not so different anyhow. Maybe the only difference between the Devil and God is in the eye of the beholder. Thank you for your concern and support, go easy, like me. Ciao. [This person got saved as we exchanged emails!]
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' holy name, the precious Lord of Glory. Please know that a true Christian doesn't have any beliefs that originated with him/her! Our beliefs come from the Bible, which is the Word of God. To say the same thing in a different way, Jesus and His Apostles are the source of the teachings of the New Covenant, which we are under. So if we sound strange to you about rejecting all other beliefs, it is because this is what God's word says, not ours! For example, Scripture states:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)Therefore, when a Christian teaches that Jesus is the ONLY WAY to enter Heaven, he is proclaiming Jesus' teaching. Furthermore, since your beliefs are in contradiction to the Lord's, then either you or He is wrong, and it can't be Him! (He has out-shined all other religious leaders including Buddha, Confucius, Mohammed, etc., because he fulfilled Old Testament Scriptures about the coming Messiah; claimed and proved Himself to be God; and resurrected from the grave in a glorified body never to die again.) Suicide is NEVER an option for a Christian. What God wants from a Christian is obedience. After salvation, among other things, a Christian is to spread the Gospel message (the Biblical plan of salvation) so others can be saved from Hell. This becomes clear by reading the Holy Bible. Sadly many people have no concept of the danger they are in by being unsaved. This is the GREATEST danger that exists, because its effect on one will stretch throughout eternity. Moreover, please know that Hell, according to the Bible, is NOT a party, one big sinful orgy or something! Please note what Jesus said about this horrible place where MOST people will go:
"This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Mat 13:49,50)Furthermore, the fire of Hell is described as eternal, unquenchable and raging. It produces torment and agony for those who will suffer because of it. It is also a place of blackest darkness. Finally, it was NOT prepared for man, but for the devil and his angels. Our sins are dragging us to this horrible place. We need a Savior and the ONLY Savior is Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Heaven, on the other hand, is a place of love and purity in a paradise environment, which is not only musical but also free of all sorts of pain. Both Heaven and Hell are FOREVER! That's why final salvation is the most important pursuit one can have and worth any personal sacrifice and pain now. Hell is irreversible once you go there, but you can still find forgiveness because you are still physically alive. Please note what Manasseh did before he got forgiven:
"Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had demolished; he also erected altars to the Baals and made Asherah poles. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, 'My Name will remain in Jerusalem forever.' In both courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts. He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger. He took the carved image he had made and put it in God's temple, of which God had said to David and to his son Solomon, 'In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever. I will not again make the feet of the Israelites leave the land I assigned to your forefathers, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them concerning all the laws, decrees and ordinances given through Moses.' But Manasseh led Judah and the people of Jerusalem astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites." (2 Chr 33:1-9)It was AFTER all of that sinning that Manasseh got forgiven and served God! So there is still hope for you! You can get forgiven too and have your sins blotted out! Heaven can be yours--a paradise environment forever for you to live in. Drugs, like alcohol, will damn your eternal soul. Crack babies, as all other babies, are saved until the age of accountability. At this point, if they willfully sin they must find forgiveness or they will perish. But you are NOT a crack baby, so focus on yourself. Don't worry, no one will go to Hell that doesn't deserve to go there. God is both righteous and just. If you go to Hell, it will be YOUR fault. There are no similarities between the devil and Christ! One wants to damn you and one wants to save you; one hates you and one loves you; one is your spiritual enemy and the other can be your Lord and Savior, if you choose to turn from your sins and trust Him for your salvation to the point of commitment. The truth can hurt sometimes but it is vital. What you just read is the truth that can change your eternal destiny, if you act upon it. GOD BLESS YOU.]
I am on a quest to find the truth. I once was a Catholic. Then I became Baptist. I thought the Baptist theology was absolutely the best, until my friend found your site. It has been an eye opener. Please answer one question for me. I believe the HOLY SPIRIT comes to be with you the moment of salvation. What happens when you sin? Does HE leave? Does HE leave and reenter us each and every time we sin, or does HE remain for the purpose of convicting us? I found some information that Martin Luther said HE flees from you. I am very confused. If HE flees, how are we to be convicted of sin and led to repentance?
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Sorry for the delay. (We were on a missionary trip for two days and just got back late Wednesday.) The Holy Spirit indwells all Christians. Our physical bodies are the temple of God under the New Testament (1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 6:16; etc.). As long as a person stays saved, the Holy Spirit will continue to reside within. Note the following:
"But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, IF we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast." (Heb 3:6)It is possible to have the Holy Spirit depart:
1 Sam 16:14 "Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him."Also, please remember all sin is NOT of the same degree! There is sin unto DEATH and sin that does NOT lead to death:
"If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death." (1 John 5:16,17)... PLEASE WRITE AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU.]
Hello, I can't be grateful enough for all the great information I've found on your website ... which brings me to ask a question. I've recently started studying the bible with a group from a nondenominational church, and so far they follow the same doctrine as the one on the web page ... but on Friday night, the entire group went to the movies to see this new X-MEN movie, and I was invited and I went with them and saw it. Earlier today, I went online and I read the "TV... Could it be" page and I'm not sure what to do from here. It is contradicting that this group of baptized Christians could preach to me then go see this movie that is full of violence and killing and such things. How can I present them with the information on the page and not make them think I'm questioning them or that I don't like them or just not come across as opposing their beliefs?
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. THANK YOU for being willing to help your friends learn the truth about watching things that are NOT spiritually wholesome. You asked how to proceed. Well let me suggest you run copies of the TV article off from our web site and give it to the people there. Whatever their response, you have done something to help them learn the truth about movies and TV. Especially the latter is one of the devil's greatest tools at this moment in time. It is in MOST homes throughout America. Let us know what happens. GOD BLESS YOU.]
Please pray for my sons. They are teenagers and have fallen away from the Lord. I know the Lord led me to your website for a reason. I was a Calvinist without even knowing what a Calvinist was. Now I understand why my sons have fallen away. Their names are ... and ... I pray for their deliverance from marijuana. I was amazed at how many of our so called "Christian youth" are smoking it. I know my sons have been experimenting. I would love to see them evangelize again.
I want to say that this is the best apologetics website I have ever seen. I have been struggling with a lot of theological questions and you cleared them up very well. Some other apologetics sites either skirt the issue or run in circles. Thank you. God bless.
... I enjoyed your 801 page book and keep re-reading it. I hope to memorize as many of the pertinent scriptures as I can to defend the faith against OSAS ideas. I had to stop getting Moody Monthly when they did an article on 'Christian suicides' about 10 years ago. I have been totally opposed to the extreme position of OSAS as proclaimed by Stanley. I still remember his sermon before he released his OSAS book years ago. He stated that he was dedicating his life to end the idea that one can fall from grace. He was intense and even hateful to any that oppose OSAS. Thanks for all that you are doing to open the eyes of Christians, former Christians and others. May the Lord continue to bless your ministry as you keep fighting the good fight.
I'm so happy to FINALLY read something that connects with my doubts about "once saved, always saved." All the people that I've talked to have told me that once you're saved, you're saved. But you are the only one who refuted it and rightly so. I was always confused reading the bible and then having people tell me different things. THANK YOU for not sugar-coating the true teachings of the bible. May God bless you! But now I'm a little worried. I was saved many years ago but I never knew what being a Christian was and so I fell away for about 5-6 years! Only since last Christmas have I come back and that was from pure FEAR of God and His judgment. Is there still hope for me? If I repent can I still make it? Please help me out here.
[Response: Greetings in JESUS' holy name. YES, you can come back to God. Remember, the Apostle Peter disowned Jesus 3 times and he came back! The rest of the 12 Apostles also "fell away" and they all came back, except Judas! David came back to God after his adultery and murder! YES, [you] can too! Ponder the Prodigal son teaching. There Jesus taught you can stray to the point of spiritual death and still return to the Lord. See Lk. 15:11-32. Other Scriptures confirm this truth: Rom 11:23 "And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again."
James 5:19,20 "My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." The passage in Heb. 6:4-6, was a special case where Jews had to commit eternal sin to return to the synagogue. Hence, they couldn't be renewed through repentance! Please consider getting our 801 page book. There is MUCH in it that you need to know. See Prov. 28:13 and 1 John 1:9 (as well as Heb. 3:14). GOD BLESS YOU.]
Rom 11:23 "And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again."
Hello. My name is ... and I would like to tell you about my life. I am 22 and I live a life full of joy and love. Every blessed morning I go to work. Every beautiful evening I come home to the most wonderful person I know. I am eccentric. I guess I see my world differently than most. I see the trees live and they sing as the prairie wind blows through their fingers. I see the snow with its fresh innocent beauty as it falls onto this glorious earth. Every morning I see the sun creep up behind the mountains to shine his glory upon our world, it never ends. Some days I sit and I draw the smells of the earth in. And I close my eyes and think about this gift we are given. I look into my soul and see cleanliness, purity, and a very good person. I am the kind who could never bear to see suffrage, or see a person burdened. I help old ladies with there [sic] groceries, and I see a person's pain as something I would like to help them bear for no one should suffer alone. And when we leave this world, I hurt for the survivors but I am happy that a soul can move on. Am I not so different from you? Do you do these things? I am wiccan, you are Christian. I respect all gods and their followers and I believe anybody is good until proven bad. Please I ask of you not to think my people evil and horrid until you have seen our ways in their true form. We have one common goal to see peace surround this world and for good will to be in the hearts of all men. I will quote the read [sic] to you as I am not here to preach but to show. IF it harms none then let it be. P.S. witchcraft (I would like to define if you will?) witch/wiccan one who posses powers to bend one's will. Craft = the art of magik [sic] or mystics. Well now look in this case it is not so bad. You posses powers to bend the soul. You are a preacher a man the world will turn to and you will lead them to their king so you end the will by bringing the flock to your pasture where they may learn. And there you have bent the will. Meditation/the art of concentrating to levels of relaxation; you meditate to your god (pray) these thoughts are for pondering I mean no ill towards you and may you have a merry life and be blessed by all! BLESSED BE! P.S. my given name is ... I am not afraid to give you my birth name for you too are good people and I know you mean no harm.
[Response: Greetings in JESUS' holy name, the ONLY name in which salvation is found (Acts 4:12). No offense intended, but according to the Scriptures no wiccan can see into their soul and if they did they certainly would not see "cleanliness, purity, and a very good person." The Bible tells us why this is so. It states that sin defiles and contaminates people spiritually. Since you are in sin you are not clean and pure spiritually before God, according to the Scriptures. You mentioned that after death a soul moves on, but where does that soul move on to? The ultimate authority on spiritual affairs is the Lord Jesus Christ. He taught there are only 2 roads, 2 gates, 2 groups of people and 2 destinies. Furthermore he taught MOST people go to Hell, a place of torment in eternal fire. You can verify this for yourself by looking at Matt. 7:13,14. Yes, we are very different. While it may be true that there are some similarities between you and a Christian, there are vast differences. Mainly a Christian is following the Lord Jesus, believing what He taught and doing His will. This will most definitely exclude a Christian from being a wiccan ... The magical arts do much spiritual harm to those that are involved in them and even those that just seek out people involved, according to the Bible. A true preacher will declare the message of the Holy Bible. It is that truth that will set a person free. Such a message can never proceed from a practicing wiccan. PLEASE, turn from that which is condemned in Scripture. Ponder this:
"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you." (Deu 18:10-12)So where are such people headed, that is, unless they change and start to follow the true and living God? Scripture tells us plainly:
"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (Rev 21:8)Ask Jesus to forgive you and turn from the magic arts and other sinful activity. Read the New Testament in the Bible to learn more. GOD BLESS YOU.]
"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." (Gal 5:19-21)
Three times now in 14 years, I feel like I have come into personal contact with the demoniac. The most recent was prolonged and somewhat subtle. I found your Scripture passages on demons to be very helpful in placing my experience in perspective. Keep up the good work!
You have been deceived my friend, and you should ask God for forgiveness from your lies. John MacArthur speaks the truth, in a way I have never heard before. He has opened my eyes to the truth, but what you speak are lies, and the evil one must be purged from you my friend, I pray that the Lord will do His will in you, so hard that your heart will be softened to receive the truth.
[Response: No doubt John MacArthur does teach the truth on some subjects! However, when it comes to Calvinism and especially "eternal security" John MacArthur, like MANY others, has turned the grace of God into a license for immorality! For example, he has done this by stating that David when in adultery and murder was still saved! This is directly opposed to TRUE grace teaching. Note what true grace teaching says:
Rev 21:8 "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."Remember also what the real "gospel" declares:
Eph 5:5 "For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person - such a man is an idolater - has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Eph 5:7 Therefore do not be partners with them."
1 Cor 15:2 "By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain."We expose and refute MacArthur and Calvinism in a very detailed way in our 801 page book entitled, The Believer's Conditional Security. That book has NEVER been refuted! Finally, remember Jesus was NOT joking when He told his disciples that they would have to endure to the end for salvation's sake:
Heb 3:14 "We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first."
Mat 10:22 "All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."Remember also that all teachings and teachers are to be held up to constant testing using the Holy Bible as the sole standard of truth (2 Tim.3:16,17). GOD BLESS YOU.]
A friend of mine went to a church meeting last week and had a silver filling changed to gold. I have been searching the web for more information on this and have come up with nothing so far. Can you direct me to where I could read up on this phenomena? It reminds me of the silver crosses being turned to gold at Medjegore [sic]. Why would Jesus, who wasn't interested in accumulating material wealth, and who didn't even have a place to lay His head, give people gold fillings? My friend was disturbed by her experience, and so am I. Thanks so much.
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Thank you for your email. An important thing to realize is that not all miracles come from God. The devil can also perform miraculous signs and wonders. We must investigate the message behind the signs to see if that message parallels Scripture. Please see our article on miracles for a better discussion. God bless you.]
Judge not lest ye be judged. Remember, the decision to save or damn is not yours to make.
[Response: Greetings in Jesus' name. Jesus commanded all to "Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment" (John 7:24). He also commended Simon on his "right judgment":
"Simon replied, 'I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.' 'You have judged correctly,' Jesus said." (Luke 7:43)Paul said that a spiritual man makes judgments about all things:
"The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment." (1 Cor 2:15)Paul told the Corinthian Christians to judge:
"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?" (1 Cor 5:12)To give Biblical truths is not "judging" as you have accused. (In fact you have judged us with your words.) If any Bible verses that we cite "judge" anyone, they should repent and believe the Scriptures. We do not make the decision to save or damn. We merely share all of God's word, even the unpopular, seldom-cited verses. If these verses damn or condemn someone, they should repent for salvation's sake. God's word judges these people according to Heb. 4:12:
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Heb 4:12).Since we are giving them God's word, we are not judging them -- God's word is judging them. We are only declaring what God's word declares about them. God bless you.]
