[EO's Response: It is very common for people to think that they have sinned too much for God to show them mercy and forgiveness. You are not an exception. Regardless where you were in the past, at this particular moment in time please know that God wants you just like he wanted the prodigal. The only time we ever read in the bible where the Father is running, he is running to welcome the prodigal back home because he turned from his sin and wanted to serve the Father. God feels the same way about you. He wants you. The devil doesn't want you to know this. He wants to torment your mind as he has multitudes of others who have lived for the flesh for a time. Please ponder Lk. 15:11-31. Also please ponder Jam. 5:19,20 which says a "multitude" of sins. Even thought you've committed these sins, ponder also what King David did--adultery and murder, yet he found forgiveness. The passage in Heb. 6:4-6 is talking about something altogether different than what you have done. Please look at our safeguards chapter from our book refuting eternal security which will give you many Scriptural truths about how to stay with God and not go astray.
You are in a very intense spiritual war for your soul. You need to watch where you go, who you are with and what you think about. Your most valuable possession is your soul. Don't ever forget this. You must guard your soul from sin. Sometimes the devil will use a "friend" to try to lead us into wickedness. If that is the case with you, you need to find new friends. Stop spending time with such ungodly people. It might mean loneliness for awhile but that's far better than being corrupted. Your soul must be guarded. Remember 1 Tim. 5:22. Also hide God's word in your heart. See Psalm 119:9-11. This will prevent sin in itself. Meditating in and memorizing the Scriptures are so important to the victorious Christian life, words cannot adequately describe it. So shut the TV off, lay the newspaper down and get very serious and adamant about drawing near to God and seeking him. Lay aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles and run with perseverance the race marked out for you. Please check out our audio sermons page. There are many sermons there that can help instruct and bolster your faith. God bless you. Remember Heb. 3:12-14. Don't hesitate to write again.]
