He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. (Psa 107:14-17)
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.
Do what it says. (James 1:22)
Campus Preaching [AUDIO]
To be a Christian is to live godly (Mt. 10:37,38; Lk. 9:23; Rev. 2:10,11; etc.). To live godly will bring persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). The TEST of PERSECUTION can be spiritually lethal (Lk. 8:13), but it also brings a great reward for the persecuted, who REMAIN FAITHFUL to Jesus (Mt. 5:10-12; Lk. 6:22).
Realizing that truth is part of walking in faith and fixing our eyes on what is unseen. That will help us so we can endure to the end to be saved (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Gal. 6:8,9; etc.).
You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' BUT I TELL YOU that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. (Mt. 5:21,22)(Jesus overrides Ex. 20:14.)
You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' BUT I TELL YOU that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Mt. 5:27,28)(Jesus overrides Deut. 24:1.)
It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' BUT I TELL YOU that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery. (Mt. 5:31,32)(Jesus overrides Lev. 9:12.)
Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.' BUT I TELL YOU, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Mt. 5:33-37)(Jesus overrides Ex. 21:24.)
You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' BUT I TELL YOU, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. (Mt. 5:38,39)(Jesus overrides Deut. 23:23.)
You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' BUT I TELL YOU: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (Mt 5:43,44)
_________________________________Jesus is Lord, Savior, the Redeemer as well as many other important titles and names , possessing ALL POWER IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH (Mt. 28:18). He is God in the flesh (Jn. 1:1 cf. 1:14; 20:28; etc.) and the Judge of the living and the dead (2 Tim. 4:1).
Do you know him (1 Jn. 2:3,4)?
Because of these, THE WRATH OF GOD IS COMING. (Col. 3:6)
John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from THE COMING WRATH ? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.... (Luke 3:7,8)
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from THE COMING WRATH. (1 Thess. 1:10)It will arrive AFTER the POST tribulation rapture. **SIN will bring God's wrath to this planet.
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests BECAME OBEDIENT TO THE FAITH. (Acts 6:7)First century praise reports:
But the word of God continued to increase and spread. (Acts 12:24)
The word of the Lord spread through the whole region. (Acts 13:49)
A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. In this way THE WORD OF THE LORD SPREAD WIDELY AND GREW IN POWER. (Acts 19:19,20)[Paul's prayer request for himself and his co-laborers:]
Finally, brothers, pray for us that THE MESSAGE OF THE LORD MAY SPREAD RAPIDLY AND BE HONORED, JUST AS IT WAS WITH YOU. (2 Thess. 3:1)***IF YOU have not been spreading God's word, remember the Parable of the Talents (Mt. 25:14-30) and REPENT.
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. (Prov 24:11)
...Others were TORTURED and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. (Heb. 11:35)The Greek term translated "tortured " there means: to stretch on an instrument resembling a drum and thus beat to death.
Those examples of the faith chose to be beaten to death rather than miss out on the "better resurrection" - the resurrection unto life (Jn. 5:29). They had saving faith and the world was not worthy of them, yet were persecuted to that degree. Beheading is awaiting this last generation of saints. (Rev. 20:4)
Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. (Rev 20:6)
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Col 3:12-14)
They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them, but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance. (Psa 106:34-40)
Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. (1 Pet. 3:8)That command is often discarded by personal judgments about another or an event, even among the God fearing. Such even happened between the apostles Paul and Barnabas in their dispute over Mark:
Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing." Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company .... (Acts 15:36-39)Along with the above related episode, consider the following relevant warning:
If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. (Gal. 5:15)Let it go and move on with the Lord.
The evidence shows: Peter primarily served God in Jerusalem (Acts 1 through Acts 8:1) and James, not Peter, was the leader of the Jerusalem church and the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15:6-21) - the only REAL church council.
...Do not go beyond what is written... (1 Cor. 4:6)- that is, WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE!
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed WHEN HIS GLORY IS REVEALED. (1 Pet. 4:12,13)So, when will Jesus' glory be revealed?
Immediately AFTER the DISTRESS [TRIBULATION] of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. His "GREAT GLORY" will be openly revealed to all at the POST Trib rapture, as stated in the foregoing verses; THEN - at that time, God's righteous WRATH WILL COME.
They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. (2 Pet. 2:15)Peter was referring to people who were once Christians (on the straight [narrow] way), but who departed over MONEY, which they could gain by becoming a false teacher. Read what Jesus said about Balaam:
...You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality. (Rev. 2:14)Jude 11 mentions Balaam, as Peter did in the context of ungodly people, who change grace into a license to sin (Jude 4). That point reveals more about 2 Peter 2.
New Testament Warnings [AUDIO]
We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, SO THAT WE DO NOT DRIFT AWAY. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (Heb. 2:1-4)The metaphor of a boat DRIFTING AWAY from land and being carried further and further out to sea is applicable with this point.
Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them, "MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENTER through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to." (Luke 13:23,24)
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Pet 1:5-11)[An audio message on the Parable of the Sower]
Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, FOR HE WILL FREELY PARDON. (Isa. 55:7)God "FREELY pardons," but such a pardon is only given to THE WICKED WHO FORSAKES HIS WAY and THE EVIL MAN WHO FORSAKES HIS THOUGHTS and TURNS TO THE LORD. In other words, one has to repent in order to obtain that free pardon.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1)
Dear friends, do NOT believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
For God did not call us to be impure, but TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit. (1 Thess. 4:7,8)
who has saved us and called us to A HOLY LIFE - not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, (2 Tim 1:9)
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, UNHOLY, without love [or without natural affection], unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2 Tim. 3:2-5)
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must DENY HIMSELF and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)The following refers to repentance, but without using that word:
Those who belong to Christ Jesus HAVE CRUCIFIED the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Gal. 5:24)NOTE Paul's repeated WARNING to Christians in the Galatian region:
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I WARN YOU, AS I DID BEFORE, that those who live like this will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)The Roman and Colosse Christians were likewise warned about the DANGER of the flesh [sinful nature]:
For if you live according to the sinful nature, YOU WILL DIE; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, (Rom 8:13)
PUT TO DEATH, THEREFORE, WHATEVER BELONGS TO YOUR EARTHLY NATURE: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. (Col 3:5)
Write, therefore, what you have seen [Revelation chapter 1], what is now [Revelation chapters 2 and 3] and what will take place later [Revelation chapter 4 through 22]. (Rev 1:19)Hence, the seven churches in Asia were real literal congregations, which received a personal message from the Lord, but that personal message was not restricted exclusively to that particular church group; it was to all "the churches" (plural) regardless the century:
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (Rev. 2:7)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Rev. 2:11)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (Rev. 2:17)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. (Rev. 2:29)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. (Rev. 3:6)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. (Rev. 3:13)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to THE CHURCHES. (Rev. 3:22)
And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. NO ONE COULD LEARN THE SONG EXCEPT THE 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. (Rev. 14:3)The 144,000 were set apart in that way too. [Imagine the beautiful singing and musical tunes in God's presence.] They sang a song the angels couldn't sing!
You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. HE DOES NOT RESIST YOU. (James 5:6)The righteous (or Christians now) have always been unjustly targeted, even from the days of Abel.
he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is WRITTEN IN THE SECOND PSALM: 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father.' (Acts 13:33)Among other things, that verse, by citing the scriptural reference increases its credibility. Also, it is not wrong to cite the reference when preaching.
The Return of Christ [AUDIO]
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this TEACHING, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work. (2 John 10,11)Those verses show that John was writing about the elect lady's CHURCH HOUSE, where the saints were taught. She was told NOT to welcome a doctrinally unsound person there and, if she did, she would share in his wicked work. Being scripturally sound is vital because teaching is spiritual food, and unsound, poisoned spiritual food will harm - even kill (spiritually).
That warning has no relevance to any unsaved, non-religious people coming to our house today to work on the plumbing, do carpentry work, etc.
Yet you have a FEW people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. (Rev 3:4,5)It IS possible to be of the "few" unsoiled, that is, like those "few" in the Sardis church who remained pure in heart and who endured in clean and holy living.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. (Rom 12:11)
Therefore, rid yourselves of ALL malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. (1 Pet. 2:1)
But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. (Col 3:8)How could that be possible IF we all sin all the time, as OSAS heretics (and others) want us to believe with their POWERLESS FAKE "GOSPEL", even repulsively stating that Paul, as a Christian, was the WORST of sinners?
I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. HOLY FATHER, protect them by the power of your name - the name you gave me - so that they may be one as we are one. (John 17:11)
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his CALLED, CHOSEN AND FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS." (Rev 17:14)In the gospel of Matthew, it is written:
For many are called, but few are chosen. (Mt. 22:14)Those coming back with Jesus, at the point of Rev. 17:14, were also FAITHFUL. Jesus taught to BE FAITHFUL TO THE POINT OF DEATH (Rev. 2:10,11).
Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified [which is Jerusalem]. (Rev 11:8)
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. (Rev 16:12)
But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city [Jerusalem - Mt. 4:5 cf. Lk. 4:9] for 42 months. (Rev 11:2)
Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. (Rev 16:16)The WHOLE WORLD is being affected by this Great Tribulation period (Rev. 13:7; etc.), but the mention of Jerusalem and the Euphrates river show the main focus as the Middle East.
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the PAINFUL TRIAL YOU ARE SUFFERING, as though something strange were happening to you. But REJOICE that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, YOU ARE BLESSED, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. (1 Pet 4:12-14)
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Rev 21:3,4)
I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. (Luke 13:5)
and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47)
All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mat. 10:22)
...Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death (Rev. 2:10-11).
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. (2 Cor. 7:10)
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (Mat. 5:8)
...do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. (1 Tim. 5:22)
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do (1 Pet. 1:15)
I have great confidence in you; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all OUR TROUBLES my joy knows no bounds. For when we came into Macedonia, this body of ours had NO REST, but we were HARASSED AT EVERY TURN - CONFLICTS ON THE OUTSIDE, FEARS WITHIN. (2 Cor. 7:4,5)[Those "fears within" did NOT control them; they kept serving God boldly.]
We are HARD PRESSED ON EVERY SIDE, but not crushed; PERPLEXED, but not in despair; PERSECUTED, but not abandoned; STRUCK DOWN, but not destroyed. (2 Cor. 4:8,9)
..."We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said. (Acts 14:22)A smooth and easy earthly life is NOT taught in scripture, even for the godly. Consider Job's tests. See persevering through trials teaching.
So WE FIX OUR EYES not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Cor 4:18)Paul and his co-laborers' THOUGHTS were on the eternal, not on their temporal misery.
Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words. (Prov. 23:9)
When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. (Ezek. 33:8)
When Jesus addressed the 7 churches in Asia (Rev. 2 and 3), he never said anything even close to what OSAS claims. Instead, Jesus told them:
The same Jesus, who said " It is finished" from the cross - wanted the lukewarm Laodiceans HOT. He told them to REPENT and warned them he would spew them out of his body (out of the body of Christ) unless they repented and became hot.
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:27,28)Remember, the wicked are NOT getting away with their sins:
...raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (Heb. 10:27)
Instead, WHY not just teach like Jesus and his apostles?
Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. STOP SINNING or something worse may happen to you." (John 5:14)
..."Now GO AND SIN NO MORE." (Jn. 8:11)
Come back to your senses as you ought, and STOP SINNING; for there are some who are ignorant of God - I say this to your shame. (1 Cor. 15:34)Remember, NO TEMPTATION will come to you that you must yield to (1 Cor. 10:13) and we can KEEP OURSELVES PURE (1 Tim. 5:22). So, are you REALLY following Jesus, as you might claim?
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "IF YOU HOLD TO MY TEACHING, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31,32)
...They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. (Jer 2:13)
Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers. (Psa 141:9)
But YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
QUESTION: WHO got baptized with the Holy Spirit to get that "POWER" to WITNESS about the Lord? There were 120 people in that upper room and they were:
Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, ALONG WITH THE WOMEN AND MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS, and with his brothers. (Acts 1:13,14)Acts 2:4 states they were ALL filled with the Holy Spirit, INCLUDING THE WOMEN. That is clear and irrefutable proof that Christian WOMEN, just like the men, are to "WITNESS" about the Lord Jesus.
But I tell you the truth, IT IS FOR YOUR BENEFIT THAT I AM GOING AWAY. UNLESS I GO AWAY, THE ADVOCATE WILL NOT COME TO YOU; but if I go, I will send Him to you. (Jn. 16:7)WHY was it important for the Advocate (the Holy Spirit) to come?
And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned. I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you. (John 16:8-15)SHOCKINGLY, Islam teaches that the one to come after Jesus was Muhammad!
...And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)BUT now in these New Testament times, we have a definite, different focus than Micah 6:8. God wants from us to have a PRESENT TENSE SUBMISSIVE FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, DOING HIS WILL TILL THE VERY END.
He [Jesus] replied, "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice." (Luke 8:21)
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat. 7:21)
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe [PRESENT TENSE in the Greek]. There is no difference, (Rom. 3:21,22)
and, once made perfect, he [Jesus] became the source of eternal salvation for all who OBEY him (Heb. 5:9)
...Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Rev. 2:10,11)**FOCUS on the New Testament.
...I preached that they should repent and turn to God and PROVE THEIR REPENTANCE BY THEIR DEEDS. (Acts 26:20)Man cannot see the heart like God can. Hence, WE PROVE TO MAN our repentance by our deeds, which he can see. That truth is related to this:
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. (Mat. 7:16,17)
God IS love, but he is also righteous and just, thus meaning that those who die spiritually impure will be thrown into the fiery furnace (Mt. 13:41,42; etc.);
Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels - not for man, but people who die in their sins will certainly go there as well (Mt. 25:41).
The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?" He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them." (Mat. 13:10,11)
You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. (Neh. 9:6)
This is what God the LORD says - he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it (Isa 42:5).God's unique infinite limitless POWER, CREATIVITY and WISDOM are reflected in those wonderful passages.
DO YOU KNOW HIM (1 John 2:3-4)?
ALL SCRIPTURE, including what Paul wrote, was inspired by the Holy Spirit. What is in the Pauline epistles is God's word (scripture) and is not merely man's opinion.
To reiterate, Paul made favorable mention of women and spoke highly of them - named and unnamed - and their contribution to the early church.
Also, Paul and his co-laborers LIVED HOLY:
You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. (1 Th 2:10)
