"If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will NOT serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." (Dan 3:17,18)

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "HE'S CALLING ELIJAH." (Mat 27:46,47)They said Jesus was "calling Elijah"! Imagine that! Remember Jesus when you are misrepresented. See Hebrews 12:3.
Even worse, the Pharisees accused Jesus of performing his miracles by the power of Beelzebub (the devil), thereby blaspheming the Holy Spirit - an eternal, unpardonable sin.
If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. (John 15:18)

Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me." But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so SAUL TOOK HIS OWN SWORD AND FELL ON IT. When the armor-bearer saw that SAUL WAS DEAD, he too fell on his sword and died with him. (1 Sam 31:4,5)
Then David said to THE YOUNG MAN who brought him the report, "How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?" "I happened to be on Mount Gilboa," the young man said, "and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and riders almost upon him. When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, and I said, 'What can I do?' "He asked me, 'Who are you?' "'An Amalekite,' I answered. "Then he said to me, 'Stand over me and kill me! I am in the throes of death, but I'm still alive.' " So I STOOD OVER HIM AND KILLED HIM, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band on his arm and have brought them here to my lord." (2 Sam 1:5-10)Mystery solved: Saul killed himself, and the young man lied because he thought David would reward him:
when a man told me [David], 'Saul is dead,' and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag. That was the reward I gave him for his news! (2 Sam 4:10)

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because YOU ARE LUKEWARM - NEITHER HOT NOR COLD - I AM ABOUT TO SPIT YOU OUT OF MY MOUTH. (Rev 3:15,16)ANSWER: do NOT try to find out! BE "HOT" FOR THE THINGS OF GOD.
Be dressed ready for service and KEEP YOUR LAMPS BURNING, (Luke 12:35)Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Col 3:12-14)
and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." (1 Cor 11:24,25)** John 6:53,54 is NOT communion, as Catholics and others wrongly claim. IF it were, then the repentant thief could not have gone to Paradise without communion (Lk. 23:42,43).

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. HE CUTS OFF EVERY BRANCH IN ME that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, THROWN INTO THE FIRE AND BURNED. (John 15:1-6)** Clearly, those branches were in Christ, but ended up "THROWN INTO THE FIRE AND BURNED over fruitlessness"!!!! Therefore, bearing good fruit is a salvation issue.
This is what a 'dream catcher' looks like, which must be AVOIDED.
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in THE TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work. (2 John 1:9-11)
2. The saints MUST continue in the teaching of Christ to have both the Father and the Son [and salvation].
3. Anyone, even a family member, who comes to you with any other teachings for your meetings (your church house) - do NOT welcome or receive him!!!!!
4. To welcome such a FALSE TEACHER is to "share in his wicked work". False teachers are SPIRITUALLY DANGEROUS people and should NOT be supported or even encouraged. They might have zeal and seem godly, but they are NOT serving the true God; they are DECEIVERS spreading POISON.
Here are 2 other translations of that same passage:
Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works. (ESV)
Anyone who does not remain in Christ's teachings but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and don't say, "Welcome," to him; for the one who says, "Welcome," to him shares in his evil works. (HCSB)

"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "CAN YOU DRINK THE CUP I AM GOING TO DRINK?" "WE CAN," THEY ANSWERED. Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father." (Mat 20:22,23)** It is very commendable that John and James were both ready for any type of suffering for righteousness that would come their way. Afterwards, James was THE FIRST Apostle to be martyred (Acts 12:1,2). His brother John wrote this of himself:
I, John, your brother and companion in the SUFFERING and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos BECAUSE OF THE WORD OF GOD AND THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS. (Rev 1:9)** Dear beloved, you MUST be willing to suffer for righteousness' sake because trouble will surely come your way:
Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed WE SHARE IN HIS SUFFERINGS IN ORDER THAT WE MAY ALSO SHARE IN HIS GLORY . I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Rom 8:17,18)

I will RESCUE you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them. (Acts 26:17)** The record shows both were physically beaten, hated and spent time in jail, BUT WERE "RESCUED" FROM DEATH.
(2) What does "REPENT mean, which we must do or else we will perish (Lk. 13:3)? How did the Ninevites repent?
When God saw what they did and how they TURNED FROM THEIR EVIL WAYS , he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. (Jonah 3:10)The above definition is what Jesus declared is repentance (Mt. 12:41). Anything less is NOT the true, biblical repentance needed for salvation.

...Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you . For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him. (Mat 21:31,32)
Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. (Acts 19:18,19)
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor **revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)** To revile means to subject to verbal abuse. A reviler is a person who uses abusive, insulting, or contemptuous language against someone or something, often to damage their reputation or character, etc. HUMBLY GO TO GOD for mercy and forgiveness, and repent of your sins. They are dragging you to the "fiery furnace" (Mt. 13:41,42).

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected NOAH, A PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and seven others; (2 Pet 2:5)NO Old Testament verse shows that Noah was a "preacher" - only the foregoing NT verse from 2 Peter. Moreover, Scripture does NOT state (as commonly taught) that Noah preached for 120 years to the people! The only time 120 years is cited, in that time frame, is in Gen.6:3, yet that time period has NO CONNECTION TO NOAH PREACHING:
Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." (Gen 6:3)

Do not hate your brother in your heart. REBUKE your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt. (Lev 19:17)REBUKING and CORRECTING is basic in the Christian life, as we BATTLE FOR TRUTH and HOLINESS:
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; CORRECT, REBUKE AND ENCOURAGE - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Tim 4:2-4)

but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, IT IS THE THIRD DAY SINCE ALL THIS TOOK PLACE. In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early THIS MORNING BUT DIDN'T FIND HIS BODY. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but HIM THEY DID NOT SEE." Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel: "Amos is raising a conspiracy against you in the very heart of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words. For this is what Amos is saying: "'Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land.'" Then AMAZIAH said to Amos, "Get out, you seer! Go back to the land of Judah. Earn your bread there and do your prophesying there. Don't prophesy anymore at Bethel, because this is the king's sanctuary and the temple of the kingdom." When the priest PASHHUR son of Immer, the chief officer in the temple of the LORD, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord's temple. (1 Cor 15:6)**The MAJORITY of the 500+ Christians who saw the resurrected Jesus were still alive when Paul wrote that epistle. Furthermore, that epistle (1 Corinthians) was written AFTER the event of Acts 18:1-11, but still written early. That in turn shows the Gospel of Luke had already been written down - AGAIN EARLY - NOT LATE:
In my former book [the Gospel of Luke], Theophilus [Luke 1:3], I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. (Acts 1:1,2)

...Christ died for the ungodly. (Rom 5:6)Also, it is the ungodly (or wicked) people who go to eternal fire (Mt. 13:41,42; etc.). HENCE, WE MUST INDIVIDUALLY MAKE JESUS OUR OWN PERSONAL SAVIOR AND LORD TO BENEFIT BY WHAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DID and we must CONTINUE IN HIM TILL THE END TO ENTER PARADISE. That is not automatic, like some teach. Jesus preached "Repent or perish." The other apostles also delivered the same message.

(Exo 31:14) For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. WHOEVER DOES ANY WORK ON THE SABBATH DAY MUST BE PUT TO DEATH. (Exo 31:15) The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. (Exo 31:16) It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever , for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.'" (Exo 31:17)Verses 14 and 15 (stoning to death sabbath breakers) is NOT practiced by the Saturday Sabbatarians. They love that whole passage, but VIOLATE it in reality. ***NOTE: The Sabbath command was given strictly for the Israelites, as shown there and here too:
While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! (1 Cor 10:12)
Do not be IDOLATERS, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry." We should not commit SEXUAL IMMORALITY , as some of them did--and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should not test the Lord, as some of them did--and were killed by snakes. And do not GRUMBLE , as some of them did--and were killed by the destroying angel. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. SO, IF YOU THINK YOU ARE STANDING FIRM, BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DON'T FALL! (1 Cor 10:7-12)BTW, the golden calf incident referenced in the foregoing passage was a one-time event (a one-time sin), not a practice of sin.
The danger of such an OSAS attitude of spiritual arrogance is further exemplified (and warned against) in Romans 11:
...Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. DO NOT BE ARROGANT, BUT BE AFRAID. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. OTHERWISE, YOU ALSO WILL BE CUT OFF. (Rom. 11:20-22)
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. (Eph 5:5-7)There absolutely is NO eternal security.

...we wait for the blessed hope--the GLORIOUS APPEARING of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, (Titus 2:13)
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY. And he will send his angels with a LOUD trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. (Mat 24:30,31)
For AS LIGHTNING THAT COMES FROM THE EAST IS VISIBLE even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Mat 24:27)
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he COMES IN HIS GLORY AND IN THE GLORY OF THE FATHER AND OF THE HOLY ANGELS. (Luke 9:26)
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by THE SPLENDOR OF HIS COMING . (2 Thess. 2:8)** The Greek term epiphaneia, found in 2 Thess. 2:8 and also in Titus 2:13, means: BRIGHTNESS, and it comes from the word meaning CONSPICUOUS and NOTABLE, thus disproving a 'secret' return of Christ.
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM, EVEN THOSE WHO PIERCED HIM; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. (Rev 1:7)In summary, Jesus' return will be:
