The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, THE LAMB OF GOD, WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD! This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' I myself did not know him, but THE REASON I CAME BAPTIZING WITH WATER WAS THAT HE MIGHT BE REVEALED TO ISRAEL." Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and I testify that THIS IS THE SON OF GOD." The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!" When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. (John 1:29-37)Remember these truths and remember what John KNEW, AT THAT POINT, about Jesus' identity. NONETHELESS, AT A LATER POINT IN TIME, THE FOLLOWING SHOCKING PHENOMENON OCCURRED:
When the men came to Jesus, they said, "JOHN THE BAPTIST SENT US TO YOU TO ASK, 'ARE YOU THE ONE WHO WAS TO COME, OR SHOULD WE EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE?'" At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO DOES NOT FALL AWAY ON ACCOUNT OF ME." (Luke 7:20-23)The above passage demonstrates what a powerful deceiver the devil, the Father of Lies, is. The devil played with John's mind while he was 'alone' in a jail cell.
We are ALL changing - either getting closer to God or further away. Make sure you are the former.
We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, SO THAT WE DO NOT DRIFT AWAY. (Heb. 2:1)

He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the **temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him." (Dan 9:27)As you can see, that verse has no connection to the Tribulation. It has merely been assumed, WITHOUT PROOF, that it reveals the length of the tribulation period, when it does not say that.
**Do NOT be led astray by end time books, rapture movies, pre-trib teachings and especially mark of the beast movies: We do NOT know how long the Tribulation is.
Secondly, NO SCRIPTURE connects the coming Wrath of God to the Tribulation. BEFORE the Wrath of God arrives, (Rev. 6:16; 11:18) big trouble will strike, and multitudes of SAINTS WILL BE MARTYRED (Rev. 6:8-11 cf. Rev. 7:9-14, Rev. 13:7-10, Rev. 20:4). In other words, the Wrath of God comes after the Post-Tribulation Rapture.
On an aside, the Wrath of God is unraveled in Rev. 16 through the bowls (or vials in KJV) of wrath. It should be noted that parts of Revelation are not in chronological order.
God will spare his faithful children from his wrath, but first we must go through the Great Tribulation, which is the devil's anger (wrath), and he knows his time is short (Rev. 12:12). This is a test.
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)
The four horsemen of the apocalypse start riding and continue to ride throughout the tribulation period. (Revelation 6)
Note: we know that the total reign of the antichrist is 42 months (Rev. 13:5, 11:2-3 cf. Daniel 7:25; 12:7), but the Scriptures are silent as to when that reign begins. This reign of the antichrist ends with Jesus return with his called, chosen and faithful (Rev. 17:14), at which point he is thrown into the lake of fire to be tormented forever (Rev. 19:20; 20:10). Also, his reign will certainly be during the tribulation period (he is the devil's man, after all). His reign also continues into the Wrath of God, which occurs after the Post-Tribulation Rapture. It is plausible that his reign starts at the beginning of the War on the Saints, but we do not know.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet INWARDLY WE ARE BEING RENEWED DAY BY DAY. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Cor 4:16-18)** We are getting older, but ONLY ON THE OUTSIDE - only our mortal body! GUARD YOUR HEART.

The Wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who SUPPRESS THE TRUTH BY THEIR WICKEDNESS, (Rom 1:18)Did you know that SUPPRESSING the truth is WICKED, and not anything better? Many preachers do that for the sake of their personal ministry; they refuse to speak out vital scriptures against the horrible and popular lies of:
NOTE: By not alerting others of the disturbing lies, when you KNOW they are lies, MANY are actually allowing horrible spiritual harm to continue, and, as a consequence, SOULS are being lost. Such people ("mute dogs" - Isa. 56:10; shepherds who feed only themselves- Jude 1:12, Ezek. 34:2) are complicit in their evil deeds of darkness, and BLOOD will be on their hands. Remember this warning about sharing in their WICKED work, and TAKE WARNING!
*Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. (Eph. 5:11)
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. ANYONE WHO WELCOMES HIM SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK. (2 John 1:9-11)
When I say to A WICKED MAN, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself. "Again, when A RIGHTEOUS MAN turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. (Ezek 3:18-20)

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. THIS IS HOW WE RECOGNIZE THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND THE SPIRIT OF FALSEHOOD. (1 John 4:6)The Spirit of truth is the Holy Spirit who teaches and guides Christians (saints) and who testifies about JESUS (Jn. 15:26; etc.). We must listen to the Lord's apostles, **AS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE (Acts 2:42), who communicated God's eternal truth and who, guided by the Holy Spirit, wrote down what God wanted us to have today (the scriptures). That eternal truth is FINAL AUTHORITY (2 Tim. 3:16,17).
** Beware of the writings of the so-called 'Church Fathers' (aka Ante-Nicene 'fathers'); these writings are outside of Scripture, and, therefore, they are NOT Holy Writ (Scripture) and ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Moreover, they contradict one another, and, even worse, their writings oftentimes contradict the Bible.
The spirit of error (or falsehood) is ANY teaching to the contrary of biblical scripture. Remember:
But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. (Heb. 5:14)

I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose THE NAME OF JESUS OF NAZARETH. (Acts 26:9)
JESUS has the name above every name (Phil. 2:9). Also, don't be misled either by the Yeshua crowd.
FYI, the word for witness in the New Testament (NT) reads as martyr in the Greek.

True repentance of sins that brings salvation is accompanied with sorrow (2 Cor. 7:10), as shown there.
"When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. (Luke 15:17-24)
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:39-43)** Thieves do not enter (**inherit = enter) God's kingdom (1 Cor. 6:9,10), but humble repentant sinners (former thieves), who go to Jesus directly for mercy, do enter the kingdom, as clearly shown because he went to PARADISE! His repentance was public too - made unashamedly. His SPIRITUAL IDENTITY changed from thief to righteous at repentance.
** At times, eternal security proponents, to protect their OSAS doctrine, use semantic trickery to attempt to make a distinction between inheriting the kingdom and entering the kingdom, claiming that Christians can enter the kingdom, but not inherit it. They attempt to make serving God a rewards issue, rather than a salvation issue. Do not be deceived. Jesus said, "Where I am, my servant will be" (Jn. 12:26)
All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him [JESUS] receives forgiveness of sins through his name." While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have." So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. (Acts 10:43-48)
All of these examples are important; they describe those who found salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and have a relationship with Him (also known as "knowing God"). Please ponder and remember those vital truths.

Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets. (Luke 6:26)Paul's enemies pursued him from Antioch to Lystra, and they stoned him when they caught up with him!
Name calling to verbal threats (Acts 4:21; etc.) to physical beatings (Acts 16:23; etc.) to prison (Rom. 16:7; etc.) to death (Acts 7: 58-60; 22:4; etc.) have been promised, in this world, for the faithful (Mt. 10:17-22), as we also enjoy rest for our souls (Mt. 11:28,29), peace with God (Rom. 5:1) and as we also ponder Paradise and the Lord's glorious return. THINK BIG PICTURE, BELOVED OF THE LORD (2 Cor. 4:14-16), or you will quickly get discouraged. Do not be spiritually near-sighted (2 Pet 1:9).
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; (2 Cor 6:4,5)
Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. (2 Cor 11:23-27)

After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia's house, where they met with the brothers and ENCOURAGED THEM. THEN THEY LEFT. (Acts 16:40)The foregoing point demonstrates why the devil hits us with DISCOURAGEMENT; he's trying to devour us slowly - one step at a time.
BE ENCOURAGED, Saints: the Kingdom has been prepared for YOU! Encouragement is vital for the long race we are in. Remember Luke 10:20.

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Heb 1:3)
For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and PRECIOUS cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Now to you who believe, this stone is PRECIOUS . But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone," (1 Pet 2:6,7)

After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia's house, where THEY MET WITH THE BROTHERS AND ENCOURAGED THEM. Then they left. (Acts 16:40)It is unthinkable that Paul and Silas ONLY "encouraged" male Christians in Lydia's house!
Also, Apollos was encouraged by Priscilla, who along with her husband, "explained to him [Apollos] the way of God more adequately".
He [Apollos] began to speak boldly in the synagogue. WHEN PRISCILLA AND AQUILA HEARD HIM, THEY INVITED HIM TO THEIR HOME AND EXPLAINED TO HIM THE WAY OF GOD MORE ADEQUATELY. When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, THE BROTHERS ENCOURAGED HIM and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. (Acts 18:26-28)Does that even include a woman there? Since Priscilla, along with her husband, helped Apollos it seems to strongly suggest that possibility. With that in mind we have this:
and most of the brothers AND SISTERS, having been made confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, dare to speak the word with greater boldness and without fear. (Phil 1:14, NRSV)Regardless, ALL CHRISTIANS are to spread and protect the gospel - even YOU.

No lie was found in their mouths; they are BLAMELESS. (Rev 14:5) BTW, this verse is referring to the 144,000.Our ultimate goal:
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make EVERY EFFORT TO BE FOUND SPOTLESS, BLAMELESS AND AT PEACE WITH HIM. (2 Pet 3:13,14)Not everyone is a sinner, sinning all the time. That, in part, disproves 'soul sleep,' as taught by the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Seventh Day Adventists.

Now this is eternal life: that they may KNOW you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3)That verse teaches one needs a RELATIONSHIP, that is, "know" the only true God, and Jesus Christ to get eternal life.
** How much knowledge did the repentant thief take in before he went to Jesus and was forgiven (Lk. 23:42,43)? The answer is VERY VERY LITTLE, but he humbly went to Jesus for mercy and received it.
